Yeah, I'm someone who definitely believes in aiming for the best, even when its near impossible. More often than not if we have an optimistic attitude we'll come away with something.

 

It's just like school, it's better to aim and work hard for a 100 and come away with an 85, than to aim for a pass and attain it.

Once again : if the revenus that the government get from a GP are less than the amount of money they invest on it, it is not profitable. Therefore, it should not be subventioned. Period. Simple capitalism.

once again.. in Montreal this was a private event. In the rest of the world these races are subsidized by governments.

 

Even in Melbourne, Australia's Montreal, the race is willingly taken at a loss by the governments because they see the "big picture".

 

Here in Montreal, its a small regional picture, play safe live safe

I hate being the devil's advocate, but Australia will probably stop funding the Australian GP within a couple of years(most likely 2009 will be the last year.) I read that the Autralian gov't has lost over 100 million$ over the past 20 years.

Je suis entièrement d'Accord. JE crois que même avec des pertes de 6 millions par années(ce qui est des peanuts) ça vallait la peine de continuer à payer. Juste le "exposure" que Montréal recevait à chaque année pendant une semaine à travers la calisse de planète vaut bien plus que 6 millions$

 

Essayer d'avoir ce même genre de "exposure" à travers la planète sans le GP, et vous allez voir que ça couterais BEAUCOUP plus cher!
