Avec tous les développements autour du pont, l'ascenseur va devenir un must pour assurer une meilleure fréquence régulière au parc Jean-Drapeau.  À 600 mètres de distance ce parc va devenir un parc de proximité pour les résidents des Faubourgs, en plus de renforcer ce pôle recreotouristique. 

Accès au parc Jean-Drapeau doit être facile et intéressant et le pont peut et doit faire sa part en termes de mobilité active!

Ça d'lair qu'on va pouvoir marcher sur le toit de l'entrée de La Ronde, comme dans le bon vieux temps de l'Expo-Express. Peut-être sauter en bas pour éviter le cover charge? Et puis ce méga extra giga parking intérieur déguisé avec son toit vert qui va en plus cacher la vue sur le "château", me semble que c'est foutument disproportionné au pied du pont.

I can’t say I’m not disappointed the the Express bridges and infra aren’t being repurposed for a light rail or light tram.

Si c’était possible! Omg I agree, just a low-cost light tram from Berri-UQAM through the Vieux and Mill to the islands would be fantastic. But everything here always seems to get over-studied, over-engineered, over-embellished, over-built, and over budget. What in Spain might cost $20M/km would likely be $120M/km here.

I am all for this... but it's $212 million for a (new) multipurpose building that will serve for... unknown events for unknown people during unknown times... and yet this literally was not even news in the main media outlets.  Meanwhile, over at Bassin Peel... $100-$300 million in possible forgivable loans on a tangible project is ALL OVER THE PLACE, much of it outrage.   I know I am off-topic but thought it was worth noting.

Totally agree! And what about the part where the city will fund half of the costs for this almost 1 billion dollar renovation. Guess that was missed as a topic during the last municipal elections. I wonder if the 20-20-20 rule will apply to the new multipurpose building here 😆

Indeed I find this new multi purpose building at 212 million a scandal. No one talks about it and it will take 1/4 of the whole budget of the entire park! Simply incredible!

I think the underlying idea is to replace all that outdoor parking along the river (with incredible views). Prime real estate for panoramic views of the skyline! 

If so, pay the extra and send the parking underground. This is a park after all. I suppose they decided to insert it in the La Ronde area for this reason, and also to facilitate entry from the bridge.
