  1. Burry the highway... and create a green space to play and relax next to modern multi-function towers Longueuil has no height limit why does it not just build the tallest skyscraper looking onto Montreal!?
  2. Makes total sense to have the station across the street from all the new towers coming. wow and the land where the SPVM becomes another possible tower site
  3. Griffintown is horrible - no one can sell me on the bland dorm room feeling. A mix of Laval and Taschereau at best. If this is “Design” and Innovative ... people need to get out and travel. This area could have been spectacular. Instead it was left to developers to speculate - building one cheap ugly scar after another. An insult to the history of the Canal. Most of the ETS is no better - hiding the best it has.
  4. Definitely the most promising and valuable piece of real estate downtown
  5. Complexe Desjardins c comme le sous-sol chez mon onc qui rajoute chaque 5 ans une quétainerie de chez CDN Tire. Un toit en verre aurais été si simple
  6. Tear it down! Hated that quasi Victorian 90’s throwback i do miss Le Garage that was on Mayor
  7. How ugly is that! They destroyed Paper Hill This is Concordia meets UQAM design
  8. Funny how every street and hood get distinctive lightposts, but everything in Montreal and suburbs is getting the same grey white brick look for pavement.
  9. Hopefully something with a curve

    Westcliff big surprise

That is what is missing in Montreal. we had Calder, Safdie, IM Pei.... I am all for local architectural firms But we need global signatures as well
  11. I spent the day in DUMBO and dropped by the Time Out Brooklyn, It was empty and dark, reminding me of that food hall that operates in PVM. I hope this does not translate to Montreal. Looked like knockoffs of Chipotle - every stall trying desperately to be selling the next “it” food item. In passing, since Time Out opened, the publication is geared towards promoting their food hall. Marketing Machine Fail
  12. With the coming REM and possibly the stadium, proximity to Old Mtl and Canal - the usage would have been better geared towards a hotel vs. Social Housing.
  13. It is a total mess of design by committee I am certain
  14. Perfect location for a Whole Foods and a Trader Joe’s!!
  15. Allow me to dream... if Decarie were covered, it would reconnect the city and turn a wasteland into a huge opportunity for urban renewal. Simply used as a linear park would transform Montreal.
  16. Comment and General Question: looking at pics above, it will be amazing to not have the buses once the REM operates. Question - I don’t know where this should go - but the pics made me wonder: why do they not plant evergreens in the city? Would it not be appropriate for a Northern City and to create wind barriers in winter - not to mention they look great with snow on them.
  17. There was some time ago a project for the Holocaust museum the site - the proposal was magnificent - proof that you can build something remarkable on the site This was the project
