  1. in the future i think we willl look back and regret trashing parts of this building
  2. i would love to see the Funiculaire use Peel Street from Place du Canada all the way up to Le Chalet The street is a traffic nightmare, closing it completely to pedestrian and funiculaire would create a mega tourist destination for Montreal - imagine going up direct from downtown to the top of Mont-Royal. Another interesting passage would be a streetcar from Phillip’s Square to de la Commune / McGill. in any case I love your ideas
  3. mtlurb should vote on the best and worst projects by categories and announce these so that our voices can be heard very much like Prix Citron / Orange that Heritage Montreal does getting more people aware of design and architecture can have an impact - especially today with social media or forums like this this project should get a major thumbs up and it seems the majority of members who are active appreciate the results the promoter, builder, architects should know we appreciate and beware to those who trash our city i did not know where to post this ... sorry
  4. An exoskeleton architectural tower next to Tour de la bourse would be awesome. here is Zaha Hadid’s current Miami project
  5. looks like Symphony Tower in Atlanta.
  6. is there a home depot for skyscraper developers? all have the same mediocre finish
  7. This is off-subject. Maybe someone can answer this question: Could the new REM stop in the tunnel under Mont-Royal, where a platform could hold an elevator to bring you to the top of the mountain? It would make the mountain much more accessible (from downtown for Tourists leaving from McGill Station). And it would allow total closure of Chemin Camille Houde.
  8. it certainly is not the height that matters all the best buildings are low, human scale, detailed Montreal is beautiful
  9. So typical of Montreal it is what a dislike about the city I love so much
  10. There seems to be a robust and lucrative, rapid business in destroying heritage buildings in Montreal.
  11. With all the new tax income from all these condos why do we not see an impact on the sidewalks, landscaping... ?
  12. That’s one ugly sector of town
  13. it is disgusting that anyone in the city approved this and why the ugly purple brick showing up everywhere in Montreal
  14. https://lemay.com/fr/what/projects/1188-sherbrooke-ouest#s1051
  15. There is no limit of height to protect the Mont Royal on the South Shore, why not build the tallest building?
  16. worst, they seem to be bragging about behind the CRCHUM… should we call them to let them know?
  17. the 1953 plan has only 3 stations below Rene Levesque blvd Square Victoria connects to a station at Dominion Square
  18. that building is nice, i’m talking about the brick building south of these, it appears on the render
  19. why are thye keeping that terrible lackluster brick building on Beaver Hall we destroy beautiful buildings and they save that?
