Rapprocher les nouvelles constructions à la rue Voilà ce que je ferais moi Why narrow the road and then try to make the new buildings closer, why not keep the lanes the same and then add the other things so that the road uses more of its ROW? I say go big or go home, do it Israeli style Don't think it can get more multi-modal than that, freeway for cars trucks and buses, railway, and a river to run your boat Citer Lien vers le commentaire Partager sur d’autres sites
Cataclaw Posté(e) 5 décembre 2010 Partager Posté(e) 5 décembre 2010 Why narrow the road and then try to make the new buildings closer, why not keep the lanes the same and then add the other things so that the road uses more of its ROW? Because currently, for most of the length of Taschereau, there are 3 lanes and an "emergency lane" / aka a paved shoulder. This space should be removed to make way for other improvements (such as an SLR). Taschereau would still have 3 lanes under my plan. It needs 3 lanes... it's still a major artery. It couldn't function with just 2. But the paved shoulder? Yeah, it can go. Look at the following pic. What makes this boulevard so successful is not the width of the road or the number of lanes... it's the endless stream of high-density buildings lining the road, the abundance of trees and the extremely wide sidewalks.
