  2. I am not sure if this was posted already or not. https://beta.montreal.ca/en/news/celebrating-mil-new-neighbourhood-born
  3. I checked on Google Maps the commute time with the current public transit system in place. Commute Job near Poste Canada (Highway 40) - 46 mins Job near Aldo Head Office - 49 mins Job in Chabanel area - 57 mins Job near Anjou mall - 72 mins (will be better with blue line extension) Job in the downtown core - 49 mins Job off of Sources - 53 mins (might be quicker with REM) Job near 32nd Ave in Lachine - 52 mins Times are also based on a 14 min walk to Namur, for people who live further in the development, if you live as close as possible to Namur, you might save 9 mins. A lot are within the 60 min range, which is not ideal, if you are a person that do not have a car, but it is possible. --- I do want to see the cost for a 3-4 bedroom house or townhouse in this development. Will it include a schools, day cares, grocery stores?
  4. I think the best navette they could use, would be a tram system, nice and green. Either way, I am looking forward to seeing what this development will look like. I wonder if this whole car free thing, will mess up the extension of Cavendish blvd.
  5. They started redeveloping the old Eaton (aka Sears) location for Simons. I wonder who will take over Deco Decouverte location, it is a pretty large space.
  6. Send the pics to the Transport Minister.

  8. I think it is a great idea. I am surprised the city didn't ask FedEx, UPS and others to do the same.
  9. The setup of Notre Dame is a mess, it is 2 lanes going east and 1 west, someone did not know and thought it was 3 lanes one direction and nearly hit me head on Saturday night. The province really needs to fix that, before someone gets killed.
  10. I am looking forward to seeing if people actually stay out of the reserved bus lane for the 968 or if they will actually have the police watching the reserved lane, during rush hour. Gouin East to Pitfield South in the morning is horrendous. It is a lineup of cars from Gouin and Wilfred to Gouin and Pitfield (about 10 mins).
  11. Uniqlo did sign a lease somewhere on St Catherine Ste, as per Retail Insider article, but they are not sure if it will be at the closed Forever 21 location. Hopefully Uniqlo opens soon, so my future child and I can match. Link: https://www.retail-insider.com/retail-insider/2019/9/ivanho-cambridge-provides-montreal-eaton-centre-overhaul-update
  12. That is going to be a great location for large weddings.
  13. I haven't heard Canada set any rules for that to happen. Quebec wants all vehicles owned by the government to be zero emission by 2050. [update: BC by 2040 wants all cars sold in that province to be zero emission] A few countries are banning the sales of combustion engines by 2030, but, cars using petrol before that year will still be allowed on the road. No countries have actually gave a date for their citizens to switch over from oil to electric or hydrogen, so it is possible by 2069 we will still see some people with combustion engines, but they will probably be paying a fortune to have them on the road. What would be great, if cars over 5 years had to get yearly inspections to make sure they are running properly and anything over 20 years, they should be off the road or get special permits to be used.
  14. This is some of the info they put on their website on August 22nd - https://rem.info/en/news/5-common-questions-about-rem
  15. I pulled this from Éco-Campus Hubert Reeves website. I guess it is the 10.45 and 9.86 ha.

Don't need to anything to it. Keep it as is. It be an interesting park, formatted as a golf course.

Close it and you gain a 65 acres to make a new park. The mayor should be happy to get new green space.
  19. We need another 50 years of 2.2% growth and we Quebec can become a trillion dollar economy.
  20. Maybe it be a good feature for future updates, that we can search posts that have something embedded.
