yes and no, but this will also mean that some vacant and underperforming buildings/lots will be sold to people who want to develop them, not like the CP who just lay them there underused.

Habs owner buys Windsor Station

CJAD news has learned Canadiens owner George Gillett has purchased historic Windsor Station.

There's no word on the purchase price, or what he plans to do with it.

 

Windsor Station served as the city's main train station until the late 1970s, when Central Station took over. It continued to serve as a commuter train terminal, until the Bell Centre was built in the 1990s. It was then replaced by what's now known as the Lucien L'Allier station.

I think that George Jr. and GEG in general have had a positive impact on the city of Montreal. In that respect, whatever Gillett decides to do with Windsor Station will most likely be good news.

I agree...I just hope that the Nimby's won't come out in full force to hinder his plans!
