(CNN)Holy smokes, Batman! It's the bat signal!

The familiar shape will illuminate the sky above cities across the world on Saturday, which is Batman Day, the caped crusader's 80th anniversary.

Friends of the DC Comics superhero can gather outside at 8 p.m. local time to see the signal flash in the "dark knight."

Here are the cities where you'll see the call to action.

• Johannesburg at The Leonardo Building

Batman Day is celebrated every year on the third Saturday of September in honor of the Dark Knight. Other festivities are happening Saturday, including a signing and panel discussion by Batman writers in New York and a Batman 5K night run in Los Angeles.

Il ne faut jamais renoncer à toutes tentatives de faire rayonner le nom de Montréal à l'international. Aussi serait-il tout indiquer de tenter notre chance pour la prochaine fois et être encore mieux préparés. Je me console en me disant que la métropole n'en sera que plus belle dans 4 ans.

Je crois également que c'était un peu trop tôt pour la ville, à la prochaine fois.

En toute honnêteté c'est sur que Sydney allait gagner. Il y a déjà eu deux éditions de WorldPride en Amérique du Nord (Toronto 2014 et New York 2019), ainsi que deux éditions en Europe (Madrid 2017 et Copenhague 2021)

On sera en bonne position pour 2025!

Franchement, je n'ai pas été impressionné par le vidéo de candidature. D'une banalité navrante, rien pour distinguer Montréal. Peu surpris du résultat.
