  1. en effet...comme dirait Jerry Maguire...
  2. I gotta agree with you, it would be pretty hard to install something worse looking than that.

    Expos de Montréal

Yup that's terrible news about Derek, RIP. There should also be a chemin 'Claude Raymond' and rue 'Denis Boucher'.
  4. Agreed, so many blind concrete walls!! But as others have said, the area has a unique vibe due to the diverse student population.
  5. Stop being logical!! Government agencies cannot function on logic. 😆
  6. Seriously that article is just trying to trigger people. So I guess the elevated branch in the west island was "allowed" by the anglophones out there? lol
  7. The whole Dorval circle was supposed to be redesigned but I think most of that project is in the dustbin. The interchange at Highway 20 and Des Sources is another mess.
  8. Just need to add an 'h' at the end. 😆
  9. That is an incredible shot. I just spent 5 minutes going over every part of it. Could be the next "where's waldo" landscape! Merci!
  10. Interesting! That would be a nice design instead of the usual drab concrete. Merci
  11. Great idea but this will never happen because you're making too much sense! I bet you they will build it with stairs, and the overpass will have a tiny fence that will make people feel unsafe while they cross the highway and within a few years the cement will crack and it will look terrible. Oh well, at least my expectations are low so how can I be disappointed right?!
  12. Nice to see something finally being built on this lot. Great location. Close to the hospital, metro, stores, etc. They will have to do something about the intersection of Claremont and de Maisonneuve as it can get pretty busy there with cars, pedestrians and cyclists all converging. Not to mention the horrible intersection further west at Decarie.

    Heure avancée

Exactly. It will never happen in the US unless all states are on board. It will need to be passed at the federal level for it to work.
  14. More like FLATline amirite?? 😂
  15. PHEW!!!! We can all breathe a sigh of relief

Well said. So many moving parts with a situation like this and we (the public) are certainly not aware of everything going on behind the scenes.
  17. Are they trying to copy the Hydro-Québec building? Next up, bell bottoms are back!
  18. I live in the area and you'd be surprised, it's actually a fairly busy spot (for a small strip mall of course). Home Depot is the key tenant, but there is a Dollarama, Sports Rousseau, Tim Horton's, other restaurants, etc that do draw steady attendance from the local area. Even the Walmart is pretty busy for it's size considering it's not a "super centre" like the one in Kirkland. I don't think that Walmart will suffer the same fate as the previous Zellers or Target. In any case, adding hundreds of potential customers will only help. There is also an IGA and Pharmaprix a short walk away so this is an ideal spot to add residential (provided they improve infrastructure to cross the 40!!).
  19. +1000! It's all fine and good to add density on Hymus but if the infrastructure isn't there for people to safely cross the 40 without a car then all this does is increase traffic, CO2 emissions, etc. My concern is that this part of the equation will simply fall by the wayside because there will be too many government agencies involved (more studies anyone?) to actually make it happen.
  20. Sounds great but the area is a traffic nightmare. Will it be able to attract enough people that don't want to own a car? Easy access to the REM and Acadie metro station are key points to make this feasible. Despite that, I bet most people would still want to have a car for the weekend runs...
  21. Good to see some renewal in that area. Lots of older buildings.
  22. WOW!!! Is this really happening?? I would never have imagined this level of development for Montréal even as recently as 10 years ago. YES!!!
  23. Damn, I guess black is the new...black? Is one of the towers going to have the Eye of Sauron over it? Could be a nice competition with PVM's beacon.
