  1. Good thing they are building new infrastructure over the old crumbling one!
  2. More details of the proposal from Brivia. Looks like a decent construction for the area but it would have a big impact on the immediate neighborhood. Hopefully they can make it a little smaller and the project will go ahead. 575-StJean-_-website-public-plan.pdfhttps://briviagroup.ca/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/575-StJean-_-website-public-plan.pdf
  3. Video trouvé sur l'interweb. I think the project name is now Liveo, no longer Horizon.
  4. L'ancien concessionnaire Honda de Sigi sur de Bleury (je crois!).
  5. Can't they find another abandoned garage somewhere? 😜
  6. Décevant. Je m'attendais à ce que Legault soit plus connecté que cela.
  7. I'm just here for the pics of the crumbling Decarie interchange. 👍
  8. +1! Entièrement d'accord. Hard to put a price on that kind of positive exposure.
  9. They paid $48 million for the lot you'd think they would have applied for a dérogation to build more than 20 floors. That's going to be some expensive sq footage...
  10. I heard it's gonna be "loca"
  11. They're in talks with Bezos to bring in Amazon HQ3 on the site. 😜
  12. "le respect du patrimoine bati" - said no one at the CDPQi
  13. Belles photos merci! On a side note, in a few years we are going to wonder how anyone in the right mind could choose that neon green puke color lol! At least it will stand out.
  14. The demolition of the existing structure was approved but the proposal in its current incarnation was not. Brivia will need to revise it. I agree with this decision, 10 stories in that location doesn't make sense. They should go with a gradual 2-4-6 storey build. As for population growth, there are three 10 storey buildings going up right across St Jean blvd. That location makes perfect sense for 10 storey buildings as there are no bungalows right next door. There also several 10 storey buildings going up on Hymus. https://montrealgazette.com/news/local-news/west-island-gazette/pointe-claire-approves-demo-of-mazda-site-but-not-brivia-high-rise
  15. Belles photos! With the appropriate landscaping, the area around le stade could really be spectacular. They keep pumping money in the roof but don't seem to take care of the area around it...

Australia exploits its natural resources via mining and export. That's where a lot of the wealth comes from.
  17. Ok so the first "tower" has gone up and a crane has been installed for the 2nd building. 10 storeys on this side of St Jean makes sense as there aren't any bungalows or cottages right next to them. Editors note: these will NOT be winning any architectural design awards
  18. Here is the presentation 575-saint-jean_projet-de-remplacement.pdf
  19. There's a lot of concern in the community about the size of this proposal and the city seems to be flip-flopping on the height allowance. After initial protests, Pointe-Claire said that they would limit the height to 6 storeys max but now seem to have reversed that and it will go ahead at 10 storeys. I have to admit that 10 storeys will be a big change in this area as there are bungalows right next to it. But I believe there is pressure on the city with the upcoming REM - new developments in proximity to the REM have to meet a minimum density requirement.
