Say her name

Valerie Plante.

From Valerie Plante to Francois Legault, we have an inactive, irresponsible and idiotic dictatorship at the helm at all levels. Montreal and Quebec needs to clean house, before we find ourselves in another 30 year death spiral.

Montreal, the city of arsons... we need accountable leaders, not idiots running government.

Not inclusiveTM enough.  The neo-marxists will always find an excuse than to blame the crooks.  We need to be like El Salvador.

Why do you feel the need to include Legault but not Trudeau? If you're going to blame the provincial government for the municipal government's short comings, might as well throw the federal government in the mix.

Dictatorship? That's a bit much don't you find?

Whenever Legault / Provincial government has noted wanting to come in and take action for Montreal municipal level problems, everyone loses their S**t and the Anglos scream bloody murder.  Give me a break.

Yes, Quebec has always had a dictatorship mentality at all levels, too many restrictions and too provincial in nature. This is not an "Anglo" problem either, as you say, but rather one of freedom and accountability vs rigid, outdated and a paternalistic mentality this province is obsessed with. There's so much potential here, yet we squander it away with outdated points of view of things and ignorance. There's a reason why it's been downhill since 2018 here, we have authoritarian, stubborn politicians who are closeminded, stuck in the 50s or want Quebec to be a village closed off to the world.

The Feds, they really can't do much since majority of issues are controlled at the provincial level. Want to give municipalities more power and resources? Well, that would require constitutional change, which requires provinces to consent to this, which means the provinces have the ultimate decision on power control, they say no, nothing happens. I definitely think they should revamp the criminal code though, and enact stricter and harsher penalties for crimes.
