Ça va être spécial de voir monter les deux tours en même temps de part et d'autre du centre bell.

En effêt ce serait formidable de voir monter tous ces beaux projets car s'il y a un secteur de centre-ville qui est défiguré par des immenses stationnements,c'est bien se secteur.Ma seule petite crainte demeure le projet Babylone,habituellement les projets grandioses associés à la firme d'architectes Panzini voient rarement le jour.

Q. Are the metal stairs being installed on the west side of de la Montagne St. near Lucien-L’Allier the way we’ll reach the train station during construction of the Tour des Canadiens? It’ll be quite a steep climb.

A. The stairs, the installation of which began last week, are indeed one of the ways train commuters will reach Lucien-L’Allier during construction of the condo skyscraper that will be going up in the plaza between the station’s main entrance and Canadiens de Montréal Ave.

 

Used by more than 11,000 passengers daily, Lucien-L’Allier, next to the Bell Centre, is the terminal for three commuter train lines — Vaudreuil-Hudson, Blainville-St-Jérôme and Candiac.

 

Work is to begin soon on the 50-floor condo tower. That means the train station’s main entrance will be inaccessible and will remain that way until the building is finished in June 2016.

 

To ensure commuters can reach the station, the condo developer agreed to pay for and build two new accesses to Lucien-L’Allier, said Brigitte Léonard, a spokesperson for the Agence métropolitaine de transport, Montreal’s train authority.

 

They’ll both be in place within a few weeks, she said.

 

The metal, 2.7-metre-wide exterior staircase will be covered and will lead passengers from the sidewalk on de la Montagne to the enclosed passageway that runs between Lucien-L’Allier train station and the Lucien-L’Allier métro station.

 

But this staircase is a secondary entrance, Léonard said.

 

The primary access for commuters will be through a corridor that connects Lucien-L’Allier train station, the Bell Centre and a newly constructed, covered passageway that leads to the Windsor Station courtyard. From there, it’ll be a short walk to Canadiens de Montréal Ave.

 

“This will be the most secure access during the construction work and it will be accessible to those with limited mobility,” Léonard said.

 

The new temporary entrances seem isolated and some commuters (women walking alone, for example) might feel vulnerable using them where there are few people around, especially the new passageway and Bell Centre corridor.

 

Will security guards be patrolling at all times?

 

“Security guards will be on duty when construction starts to direct customers,” Léonard said.

Je suis surpris que la construction de cette tour va prendre plus de 3 ans, surtout si on prends en considération qu'il n'y aura pas d'excavation à faire pour un stationnement sous-terrain !

Quel mur au juste ? Je ne vois pas à quel mur tu fais référence. Je viens de parler avec ma source qui travaille chez CF et celui-ci me dit que le début de l'excavation est prévu dans 2 à 3 semaines. Ils auraient voulu commencer dès lundi prochain mais ils n'ont toujours pas le OK de la ville...Même problème qu'Icône et Tom ! Quelqu'un de la ville qui nous lit peut nous aider à confirmer ceci ?
