  1. I'm willing to bet they will hang massive promotional posters off the walls of burgers and shit. It won't stay empty
  2. I believe they want people to start moving in for late Q4 2015, so it could be nearly topped out by summer!
  3. http://oceanexplorer.noaa.gov/explorations/05stepstones/background/geologic_history/geologic_history.html
  4. According to jspetit on SSP: Considering TDC 1 was original 62 floors, brought down to 40, only to go to 50, it seems a bit too coincidental and incorrect but figured I should share anyway
  5. Yeah, the price suggests it might be truly great materials.
  6. The tiles/blocks in between the glass looks really nice.
  7. I doubt it. There's a gas station with cameras immediately next to it. They won't be dumb enough to do it there and get caught.
  8. It says it will be a brand new building built specifically for the ONF - doesn't the QdS go all the way to Berri? I'm really hoping it's around Place des Arts though. There's some spots in the Eastern part, before Saint Laurent
  9. Do some of the other members on this forum remember we had this great discussion a few years ago about moving our main/important artistic and cultural offices to the Quartier des Spectacles? Tourists at the Jazz fest looking around at the towers in the area with Cirque du Soleil logo and the ONF logo at the tops of each building? It would add a tremendous feel and buzz to the area. This is big news! I'm hoping we get a brand new facility for them, with the logo at the top, all lit up at night. They need a lot of space (i.e. theatre rooms, editing rooms, archives) so let's hope we get a sexy new glass tower for them!
  10. Based on the 3-D rendering on their website, the actual tower will use a much lighter blue for the glass.
  11. It might be for the best. It's a great looking tower but would have really created this awkward imbalance in the skyline
  12. LeftCoaster (who works for CF) over on SSP has confirmed: "I hate to be the party pooper here but that one tower scheme for Quad Windsor (200m+) is NOT the current scheme and represents a previous option that will not be moving forward."
  13. Huge news! Days of Future Past that was shot here in 2013 grossed $745 million worldwide and cost over $200 million to shoot. The new film's budget could be $250 million + Starring Jennifer Lawrence, Hugh Jackman, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult, Channing Tatum. Rumours of the original cast of Ian McKellen, Anna Paquin, Patrick Stewart, Halle Berry returning are also in the air. http://www.cjad.com/cjad-news/2014/09/04/x-men-returning-to-montreal
  14. Base of the 2nd crane installed! Its yellow
  15. Oh man, my friend lives right around the corner and I'm always at her place. I'm gonna get so faaaat.
  16. I work in this industry, I guarantee you they aren't leaving. In fact, they're hiring. Since April, one studio has actually hired another 75 employees. They're just threatening cause they want more tax breaks.
  17. When I saw it earlier today I was quite meh about it, but it's growing on me. It's definitely elegant.
  18. The logo really adds to the building beautifully.
  19. I was driving east on the Ville-Marie the other day and I have to say I was blown away. The thing is an absolute beast. And to think it's only half of the complex basically.
  20. The Feds would definitely spend money on upgrading stadiums in this country, considering every other country that hosts the World Cup gets $$ from their government. Imagine the Big O, with its new lighting scheme, an open-air roof, a revamped interior and exterior hosting games of the World Cup? Spectacular. An Expo, the Summer Olympic Games and host of the FIFA World Cup? What a trifecta. How many cities around the world have done all 3?
