Le Canadien s’implante à Brossard

Les joueurs du Canadien s’entraîneront sous peu de façon permanente dans complexe spécialement aménagé pour l’équipe à Brossard, sur la rive sud de Montréal.

 

Le président du Canadien, Pierre Boivin, en fera l’annonce ce midi, en compagnie du maire de Brossard, Jean-Marc Pelletier.

 

Il s’agit pour le Tricolore de faciliter le quotidien des joueurs et de son personnel de soutien. Les bureaux de l'équipe demeureraient toutefois au Centre Bell, dans le centre-ville de Montréal.

 

En raison de la forte utilisation du Centre Bell, le Canadien doit fréquenter d’autres sites d'entraînement : l'Aréna Martin-Lapointe, dans l'arrondissement Lachine, les Complexes Quatre-Glaces de Brossard et Pierrefonds ainsi que l'Auditorium de Verdun.

Malgré tout , j'aurais espéré plus de gradin pour une équipe d'expension de la LHJMQ dans le futur.

Habs announce new practice facility in Brossard

Canadiens president Pierre Boivin and general manager Bob Gainey, announced today that construction will begin on a future practice facility for the team within a new sports complex to be built in Brossard at the Dix 30 complex, located at the crossroads of Highways 10 and 30.

 

The increasing number of events booked by the Gillett Entertainment Group and held at the Bell Centre made it essential for the team to have its own training facility. The decision made by the organization follows a growing trend identified in professional sports. In order to have the best possible installations and maximize players' training conditions, there is a proven need for having a training facility away from the venue where the games are played.

 

"This new practice centre demonstrates to our players and to all our fans that the Montreal Canadiens is a modern and dynamic organization, determined to undertake all the necessary measures to provide winning conditions," Boivin said. "This project, carried out with the collaboration of AXOR Inc. and the city of Brossard, will also allow all citizens of the city and the immediate area to take advantage of an exceptional facility for both hockey and soccer, which are very popular sports among youth and adults in the province of Quebec."

 

 

The sports complex will have two sheets of ice built in accordance with National Hockey League specifications, and whose features will be identical to those of the Bell Centre rink. The rinks will be complete with a fully equipped players' locker room and other multi-purpose rooms. The Canadiens' practice rink will also accommodate up to 800 spectators.

 

The Canadiens' practice facility will also feature a state-of-the-art training room outfitted with modern equipment and clinical and treatment areas to provide players with a high quality environment. Working areas will be available for members of the media, including a news conference room and a working room, as well as an observation balcony.

excuses toi pas, j'ai dis la même chose sur SSP. Il me semble que ça fait 3 ans que Gilles Courteau(Président de la LHJMQ) chiale qu'il veut voir une équipe reveir dans la région de Montréal. Ceci aurait pu être cette chance, mais avec un arena de 800 places seulement, ce n'est vraiment pas assez pour acceuillir une équipe Junior!
