Savez-vous faire la différence entre "abordable" et "cheap" ?

Les choix de matériaux sur le Metropol compte des panneaux préfabriqués métallique de type "panfab" et de la brique haut de gamme noir (pas celle qu'on voit dans hochelaga, mais celle qu'on retrouve un peu partout dans griffintown et au centre ville. Ce sont des choix architecturaux de qualité.

 

De plus, le projet Drummond aura des cuisines Scavolini.

 

je connais 2 personnes qui ont acheté un condo Samcon et ils n'ont eu aucun problème d'aucune sorte.

 

J'imagine mal comment on pourrait faire une tour de plusieurs millions de dollar en plein centre-ville tout en étant "cheap"

Je dirais que j'ai en tête la plupart de leurs projets.

 

Je compare un peu Samcon à des '5-10-15' comme H&M fait dans la guenille. C'est sur qu'ils rendent la marchandise, mais 5 ans après les armoires tombent en pièces. Leurs finitions et leurs matériaux sont ce qu'il y a plus de base. C'est certain que si tu aimes les moulures et les portes à caissons tu vas être satisfait du coup d'oeil. Pour ma part, Je préfère de loin une unité plus petite mais avec des matériaux de qualité. Comme le disait Rocco, juste à voir le Metropolis pour voir ce que Samcon considère comme du haut de gamme.

 

Enfin c'est mon point de vue. Je préfère payer plus et avoir quelque chose de plus haut de gamme. Le prix fait vraiment la différence.

Mais ça, c'est mon point de vue... et c'est très discutable! ;-)

Tu es conscient que 99% des armoires de cuisines de condos sont toujours des deux mêmes grands fabricants, soit uniboard et tafisa et ce pour tous les projets ???

Tu es conscient également que la cuisine est fourni par des compagnies reconnus tel que "cuisine action", soit la même compagnie qui en livre pour tous les constructeurs ???

 

Je crois que tu généralises beaucoup trop en ayant très peu d'information factuelle. Je peux comprendre qu'on soit craintif à l'égard de certaine chose, mais quand on reste avec les faits, on ne s'éloigne pas trop de la réalité. J'ai l'impression que tu te convaint plus que tu nous convaint nous )

 

Metropol n'est pas du haut de gamme, c'est du moyen de gamme, comme tous les autres.

Les hauts de gamme cest des projets comme "M de la Montagne" à 1000$ le pied carré et plus.

 

je sais qu'ils ont changé la quincaillerie de cuisine dans les grandes unités au Metropol. je n'ai pas testé, mais c'est surement pour le mieux

From my experience purchasing a condo and visiting every developer like mondev, samcon, prevel, habitation st.luc, devimco, etc. I could clearly see a difference in the quality of the finishes and the origin of the materials.

 

Sorry to say, but samcon was obviously on the cheaper end, no question about it. I could see a direct linear correlation with price and quality, ranging from cheap in the mondev/samcon world, to amazing in the Red Fox or Cato world.

 

I don't see what the issue is what that though because the price is indeed lower and it caters to a different "clientele".

Can you tell me a real exemple, like project X from Samcon versus project X from Devimco versus project X from Prevel. Samcon is the one to take a hit if you visit a low-end project and you compare that to a downtown tower that's for sure. I know that they use to have cheaper kitchen, but it has change.

 

I got my information based on my professional experience as an architect over the last 12 year doing house design, condo design and urban planning. (not being rude here, just trying to tell you i can say those thing with confidence) I have work with a lot of different builder (including a few that you name) and kitchen are always made by those kind of company. So the build construction is the same for everyone, they don't build it, they just install it (screw to the wall). That being said, those company cover a large quality range in term of hardware. Better hardware will get you variable speed opening and stuff like that, thus making it a "better" kitchen. Melamine is melamine, all the interior panel are melamine (even Scavolini). The outside are normally stratify. They are all made from uniboard and formica. Those are the two major company in Canada for those type of board. They have a wide range of finish (price). Some look better ($$) than other($). This may make you think one have better quality than the other, but it's all the same quality. It depends of taste and $$ doesn't necessarily look better than $. That being said, the latest kitchen in Samcon's office is nice and contemporary, much better than what they had before. It's similar to what other builder currently offer. It's a 1 or 2 month old new standard kitchen they have. They made a 5a7 to show the new design center, they wipe out everything they had for the last 5 years or so.

 

Of course lower end project will have cheaper kitchen and mid range will have better kitchen. That is ok. What i am saying is that the same product category will be almost identical with all the major builder out there. All the tower currently available in Griffintown and downtown have almost the same kitchen. But the color and texture vary from one project to the other, which make finding your condo a unique experience

 

What make you think/feel a kitchen have better quality is sometimes the hardware. And now everyone use quartz as a standard for countertop. It's no longuer something cool that you pay extra for.

 

You can trust me when i say the latest kitchen in Samcon have the same mid-range standard quality in most of their recent project.

 

Builder in general choose those kind of company (cuisine action) to build kitchen because they can deliver large amount of kitchen on short notice. This is key in delivering condo every day/week. Go visit cuisine action, you'll see they have very hot kitchen too.

 

That being said, the Drummond is known to be upgraded to high-end Scavolinni kitchen with a choice of full lacquer or a mix of lacquer and stratified with good hardware, making it the best kitchen for a mid-high condo right now. I also saw a house project that have scavolini kitchen, unfortunatly, it's a 600k$ and up kind of project
