  1. Looks awesome from this perspective. Love the glass panelling on and under the hotel.
  2. It’s a nice nod to indigenous people. It will take time to get use to saying it though.. kind of a tough name to remember especially that it’s not verbalized exactly in the same manner as it’s spelling. Adadegon vs Atateken
  3. Personally I prefer all blue or all red.. but hey white will do 🙂 ..and I’ll leave it up to you to make the disco ball suggestion to PVM.. or better still a laser ball!
  4. A couple of things MTLBlog is hardly the New York Times and frequently makes attention grabbing headlines so.. The rainbow effect probably is for testing purposes only. I doubt the lighting will often be more than one solid colour. You can’t please everyone, there will always be complaints.. always, we see it here in every thread. It’s human nature. So for what it’s worth, I like the lighting.
  5. Nice, I too thought it would only be white. Also I was under the impression lighting would only be installed after the bridge was opened. I’m kinda anxious now to see it all up and running.
  6. I agree. Would be nice to see a tower with a different colour glass than grey or dark blue. Maybe a deep mauve or gold (although it’s not a bank) or any other respectable colour that makes it stand out without it being gaudy.
  7. Well the top image looks ok.. maybe it’s just the dull look of the bottom rendering that makes it look so bland. The AC hotel looked ugly in its rendering, so did Myriade.. both turned out ok.. the AC actually quite nice. So I’m going to give it a chance by waiting for more detailed renderings. Not sure what they were thinking with the bottom ad.. horrible dull tones.. displaying concrete walls, blanked out reflective curtain.. they couldn’t have made it look more unappealing.. way ta go in missing a chance to generate excitement and interest in their product. Looks like an ad from the 1960s.
  8. If not stained then add a false ceiling.. it looks like unfinished work as it is now. It does however match the rendering so any of this is doubtful. The project overall though is fantastic.
  9. Thanks for sharing that.. quite interesting! Merci!
  10. Nah, they came for the Festival de Construction!
  11. I stumbled upon Le MEM by accident with an American friend who was in town for a weekend and we both just loved it.. it’s a little gem that sits somewhat under the radar.
  12. Thanks. Strange I’ve never seen or heard of this building. Looks innovative and interesting.
  13. What’s the building with all the bizarre lines and tubes on or inside it? Looks like an art studio of some sort.
  14. In the news conference they hinted the combined three museums (McCord, Stewart, La Mode) will be renamed on a later date. The one that’s been put out is Musée Montréalais or something to that effect. Probably a good move for the city
  15. Excellent news and I’m glad they’re staying in their original location. Also since there will be an architectural competition I presume the images above are just conceptual images and not concrete plans. The final design could be quite different. Rue Victoria will be a unique part of all this.. hopefully a quaint pedestrian street with artwork and interesting shops or displays.
  16. I really like this picture.. the skyline looks impressive. The densification of skyscrapers is evident. Griffintown looks awesome.. REM is on the horizon and the sunlight is hitting all the right marks. Montreal is really getting its act together these days, it gives me a good feeling about our future. Can’t wait to see this view in about 5 years with all the coming additions and with a REM train passing by.
  17. This looks amazing! I can imagine it attracting the attention of foreigners. Fingers crossed it gets built.
  18. Ok thanks both of you. I sensed it really ended closer to Baie d’Urfé than Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue, if anything it really is stopping in Baie d’Urfé. It seems designed to serve both communities I suppose. There seems to be room to have extended it south to the existing rail tracks and go right into the existing SADB station which they could redo. It might still be a good first trip once it opens. Grab supper by the boats and head back providing the bus service is quick and direct and is operational into the late evening. 🙂
  19. Where is this station actually going to be located? Along the 40 or closer into the town near the current rail line? REM maps just plop it generically short of the city and generally in the center of the west tip of the island. I live way out east but I like the little restaurant row along the water front there.. REM will make it a fun way to go there.
  20. The “St-Laurent” was my choice too plus I like the interior colour scheme. The dark green is fine with me. Looking forward to using these and seeing these trains around the city!
  21. Considering Vancouver has less population of Montreal it is doing incredibly well. The Asian influence sure has an impact.
  22. Interesting videos. Kind of makes you want to take on the world lol. This is going to be an incredible complex for Montreal though. My favorite project in the city at the moment.
