The only thing that could have worked IMHO is the ÉTS expanding in that area since I know they have (had?) multiple collaborations with McGill' engineering faculty. But the ÉTS is rapidly expanding throughout Griffintown instead and we should be thrilled about that.
Agreed that he's otherwise pandering to the masses and trying to spin the issue. McGill was the only real choice all along. Even then I don't trust them to fully deliver on their promises. They have so many run down buildings along University.

Avec la fin de la construction du pont Samuel-De Champlain, ils croyaient retrouver un peu de quiétude. Mais des résidants de Verdun sont encore dérangés par le bruit provenant des voies rapides menant au pont, qui longent leur quartier.
