Très dommage. Au moins ce sont seulement des graffitis, donc en surface.

Des vandales sont montés en haut et l'ont totalement recouverte de graffitis.

 

En gros la restauration a été faite pour rien.

Hein, c'est arrivé cette nuit?!

J'ai une photo de la bouteille juste avant (mardi), et même hier elle était intacte il me semble...

Ça doit être un autre coup de la mafia et donc du maire Tremblay pour que celui-ci donne un contrat de restauration à une compagnie dont le propriétaire à un nom de famille italien, donc un mafieux!

Mais plus sérieusement, c'est vraiment dommage. Espérons qu'ils sont prêts à la restaurer de nouveau.

En fait, j'ai relu l'article d'origine et les travaux de restauration y sont estimés à 200,000 $ !!!!

Je veux pas avoir l'air d'un vieux chialeux, mais je commence a trouver la situation ridicule; la quantite de grafiti en ville est atroce.

A tous les matins, il y a un nouveau tag sur le magasin Apple, ou le magasin croc, le 4everxxi qui va ouvrir bientot, meme le sun life desfois... faut que la police fasse quelque chose.

I checked with Heritage Montreal, which coordinated the refurbishment.

 

The heritage group says security has been tightened. The owner of the shuttered Guaranteed Pure Milk dairy, on which the bottle is mounted, has better secured the building's doors and windows to keep vandals (or are they artists?) out, said Debbie Cabana, a spokeperson for Heritage Montreal. And the owners of the Cité Multimédia de Montréal, which handles security for the former dairy, have stepped up patrols and other security measures, she said.

 

Looks like it wasn't enough...

How can we expect the Montreal Police Department to defend the city from graffiti vandals (they aren't artists..) when they can't even defend their own patrol cars and police stations from getting vandalized by gangs of anarchists...

If you're polite and respectful with police, they'll be polite and respectful to you.

 

I've never heard of a police brutality incident where the person on the receiving end of the abuse didn't push it even just a little. A disrespectful tone, refusal to comply, all these things cause provocation. I'm not saying i support police brutality, because i certainly do not, but the fact is police officers are humans too, and if you provoke a human being, sometimes you get what's coming.

 

With that in mind, i'm in favor of an increased police presence. I agree with MTLskyline. To hell with these anarchist punks that say "fuck the police". Would you rather live in a zero-rules crime-infested city? Bunch of ignorant fools.

 

Yes to better security, yes to better enforcement, and yes to making the vandals that deface our city pay for their actions.
