I could not stop looking at them when I came downtown .. Same here! The access to Ile N-D was then blocked to the public (about July 1978). But I still found a way to get in there (don’t give me a hard time; I was a teenager then). I tried to access the tall GB pavilion (still standing then) in order to take pictures from the roof... But no luck here, that pavilion was seriously locked/blocked all around. Tried then the French pavilion (later Palais des Civilisations, now the Casino), and I found an open door, great!! FWIW, bizarrely there were a bunch of Iranian touristic pamphlets/maps/posters etc. lying all over the place. Was there an Iranian touristic (pre-revolution) presentation/kiosk in this building, prior to 1978? So I went straight to the roof and took a bunch of pics of the surroundings, basically a 360 degrees panorama. (Had then a Russian “Zenit E”; a 100% manual reflex 35mn camera that I paid 75$ new 3 years earlier. That dinosaur took really superb pics!) . I just could not find back those pics. I’ll have to get a negative’s viewer/scanner and search into my pile of older negatives. Will publish them here eventually…
