Very very debatable. La langue française est la seule autorisée à être affichée, et la seule autorisée à être utilisée. Ce n'est pas vraiment de la "variété". Par contre, la plupart des autres villes nord-américaines de classe mondiale ont des communautés culturelles dynamiques où leurs langues sont autorisées à être affichées et, dans de nombreux cas, sont également utilisées pour les commications officiels. Il y a autant d'espagnole et de coréenne vue et entendue à Los Angeles qu'il y a de chinois à San Francisco. Allez à New York et dites-moi que c'est une ville monoculturelle et unilingue sans âme. Oui, et ils auront tant à apprécier, et finiront par adorer la langue française et la culture québécoise — mais ils ne devraient pas être obligés d'utiliser Google Translate à l'aéroport, ou simplement pour se rendre au centre-ville par le REM. Using a few messages in the de-facto international language of tourism (and business) is a small gesture of welcome, and I’ll say again, would have only positive effects. It’s laughable to think that these few words of greeting and guidance could be considered a threat to the French language. Anyway, that’s just my opinion. I like choice A.

Of the three, I chose A. It’s just my opinion, but I feel we’re still heading the wrong direction by limiting to (or mandating) a single language for announcements on mass transit, especially on a line that serves the airport — which, you’ll remember, is 50% of REM’s whole raison-d’être. English announcements on REM would be helpful for visitors and tourists, and no more of a threat to the French language than the English announcements made (by American Carolyn Hopkins) at the airport.
