  2. The protest organizer says he's disturbed by the planes... in RPP. Cmon, why do newspapers print this S**t all the time?
  3. Lol I was going to call them "Barilla boxes"!
  4. Rectangular boxes. If they get built. That's disappointing.
  5. Has this been mentioned anywhere else before? Or is it just speculation by the author? There will be an overpass not too far from the Kirkland REM station for the REV, but that's unlikely to be "covered." Also, "the city" has little or nothing to do with it, other than planning it as part of the REV.
  6. Do they sell architectural plans at Rossy? Seriously, we can't make our social housing units look better than a 1970s Cartierville ghetto project?🤦🏻‍♂️
  7. Whoever is coordinating the crane schedule and just-in-time deliveries is a master.
  8. "Halifax, recognised for its rich history and strategic importance in the Atlantic region, shares historical, cultural, and commercial connections with Bermuda."
  9. Back to the topic of necessary (physical) mitigation measures, while we await those improvements, it wouldn't surprise me if YUL soon moves up to become a Level 3 coordinated airport, and slot times here become valuable commodities.
  10. Wondering when all the solar panels are being installed... /s
  11. The McNamara Terminal makes it (by far) my favourite North American airport.
  12. Domestic and international only need to be segregated for arrivals, which is easy enough on a gate-by-gate basis. That's how it works everywhere in the modern world. And how it works here, at gates 47 to 52.
  13. Rather, I see such an extended Aeroquay 2.0 as handling international and domestic jet operations, leaving the legacy "domestic" jetty (gates 1 to 15) for the small puddle-jumpers (and probably why we don't see the old domestic jetty expanded in either the 2028 or 2035 proposals). No more A330s and 787s at 1, 5, 9 or 11.
  14. Aeroquay 1.0 offers just three narrow-body gates currently, and only one with a jet bridge; these are used almost exclusively by Air North and Air Inuit. The Aeroquay itself doesn't have the capacity for anything larger than a legacy 737(-400, at most), and the ramp area won't even accommodate a 737-800 as operated by WG or TS. Any new Aeroquay built further from the main concourses will by necessity have wide-body jet bridges and ramp space to accommodate modern, full-size aircraft. With all that said, it's reasonable to not expect prop and RJ service at the new Aeroquay, so I would think the old Aeroquay's eastern end will remain in use for Qs and smaller RJs until Phase 2 is nearly complete.
  15. I don't think I saw any actual renders showing the OG and 2.0 Aeroquays both in use, only the diagram locating the new one showed the old one for location awareness. Neither the 2018 nor the current plan show where they'll move the deicing centre, fire station, baggage sorting centre, or bomb shelter, so I'd take all of this with a huge grain of salt.
  16. While we don't yet know what it will be set at, there will be a gate fee for all single rides originating or terminating at YUL. At YVR, the fee is $5 (on top of a normal single adult journey fare), and the station saw 3 million boardings in 2019, and a similar number of alightings. Even if half of them were single ride fares, that's $15 million of ongoing revenue, nothing to sneeze at!
  17. Beacon Lightning to Pittsburgh
  18. Kind of hoping for an APM like ATL or Vegas or Seattle or...
  19. Hmmm... looks like they've nixed the airside expansion in favour of Aeroquay 2.0 on the old 10-28.
  20. I'm looking forward to the official announcement. Basically a major revision of the 2017 plans, but... j'y croirai quand je le verrai.
  21. There are a few "pretty-good" lounges in North America, but yes, almost all are overcrowded with entitled, selfish a**h***s (and often, their spawn). If you get a chance you should visit the sprawling Delta Sky Club at LAX, it sets a very high bar for North American airline lounges. Alas, as huge as it is, it's always packed. There are so many different areas, though, that it's still possible to escape the madness. Honestly, compared to virtually all other clubs and lounges in the Americas, it's like a cruise ship among dinghies.
