  1. Exactly... Above the 6th floor, the building is set back from it's neighbor to the west, and has windows on all sides. The terraces on the RDC will be used by the two commercial spaces as outdoor areas Some additional photos taken 09/06/2016
  2. Agreed, it's a tasteful renovation... although the building is much more typical of 50-60's modernism (it was actually built in 1958-59)...
  3. I agree with the other comments that the widows and brick choices are a really nice nod to the past...
  4. I agree that it will surely rebuilt to replicate the existing... and that shouldn't be very difficult given it's simple architecture, and it's envelope having already been replaced with recent materials. I'm not surprised that the city had to accept some responsibility, given they were aware that there was a broken pipe, and that a sink hole in the street had to be repair a week earlier. Sink holes can undermine any structure... and surely why the CSST didn't take any chances.
  5. Here is Shube's resized picture, I'm counting one less floor as well, with the forms on the 7th level...
  6. It's now out of the ground, this picture was taken yesterday of the mezzanine formwork (2nd floor)... which got poured today. 2016-04-08 2ieme étage:
  7. I believe it's 1290 Saint-Denis.... and it does belong to UQAM according to the tax records...
  8. Here is a quick summary of where it is at... 2016-01-25 Pouring of the 1st basement: 2016-03-04 Rez de Chausee formwork: 2016-03-09 Terrace areas complete: 2016-03-11 Rez de Chausee north half complete: The ground floor slab was completed last week, and work has begun on the shear walls between the RDC and 2nd floor mezzanine...
  9. And their web site http://www.selbycondos.com has disappeared and is now "under construction" as well...
  10. And finally the formwork for basement level 2 taken today by a coworker... 2015-12-11
  11. Backfilling, basement level 3 between the 2015-12-03 and 05 2015-12-03 2015-12-05
  12. A little behind in posting these... but these were taken the day the crane was installed... 2015-12-01
  13. Here are a couple of pictures taken by a co-worker on 07 October 2015 of the first pour of the raft footing...
  14. It's topped out based on the info I have, with 17 floors if you count the mechanical (3 basements, 2 commercial, 14 residential with 116 apts, 1 mechanical)... it's not as prestigious as the Saint-M1 but that is to be expected from one which is rentals.
  15. It’s hard to take an article like that seriously, where personal taste is presented as fact. It’s one thing when it’s a forum, where people discuss their opinions, and another when it’s a journalist trying to be credible. The Grande Bibliotheque is nice, but I don’t see the as a master piece… and for rental units, the Ilot Voyageur is pretty nice. I guess the author feels the rents should be in the 2000$ + range to allow for some innovative architectural features? Esthetic beauty is personal. A journalist should know that. Get real.
  16. I walked by this building as they were finishing it up, and it's really well done and looks much better than the original. Must have cost quite a bit per ft2, but it's a really desirable area with the matching demand....
  18. Here is a little more details on the project: Six88 - 16 étages (2015) Nom: Six88 Notre-Dame Hauteur en étages: 16 étages + 1 appentis et 3 stationnements Hauteur en mètres: 80 + appentis Promoteur: Stanford Properties Architecte: Campanella et associés Génie conseil structure: Beaudoin Hurens Génie conseil mécanique et électrique: Desjardins Expert Conseil Entrepreneur général: Vinac Construction Inc. Emplacement: 688 Notre Dame Ouest, coin Saint-Henri Début de construction: Avril 2015 Autres informations: * 8050 pi2 espace commerciale au RDC et 2ieme étages * 148 appartements sur 14 étages
  19. Some updated pictures, pouring of the "dalle de propreté" (or concrete housekeeping pad in english)... that is some pretty dark silt at the bottom... 2015-10-14 (pictures taken by a coworker)
  20. Here are a couple of photos of the partially dissembled building facades on St-Jacques taken over the long weekend... 2015-10-13 2015-10-13
  21. I had not noticed that they are proposing a 8 Story wood building, using structural cross-laminated timber panel system I suppose? http://www.tesseract-design.com/cross-laminated-timber-construction.html I believe the pub "Le Barouf" on St-Denis was built this way
  22. Here are a couple of pictures taken yesterday... 2015-10-05 ETA: From the sales website, the two towers are PHASE 1: Tour Newman on the left and PHASE 2: Tour Allard on the right, joined at the street corner. They list some sold units in Phase 1, and there are no floor plans for Phase 2 which probably means that it'll be rental one...
  23. The 1000 was actually a steel structure, as compared to Roccabella's concrete structure...
  24. Yes, I work for one of the firms… that is a sure fire way to get access to sites… The St-Maurice project will be built to the property line, with a blind wall facing north… while the Six88 will be set away from the property lines by an “L” shaped terrace (for a potential future restaurant?) that runs the full length of the St-Maurice project and turns the corner up to the Pub Victoria building. The shoring, and underpinning, we see along the St-Maurice project was installed by them, to hold up the now demolished garage. It will probably remain there despite not serving any purpose, as it’s entirely on their property which means the Six88 can’t be built right up to their foundation anyways. Inversely, it’s a little like what we have on the Pub side…
  25. A couple of updated photos taken, I believe, today... 2015-10-01 looking north 2015-10-01 looking south, we can see that they started installing some prefab on the 685 St-Maurice next door...
