Architects Building - 17 floors (1932-1955)

Southeast corner of Rene-Levesque and Beaver Hall.

 

Demolished for the enlargement of René-Lévesque Blvd in the 1950's (then named Dorchester Blvd).

L'Architects Building se situait à l'emplacement actuel du 500 René-Levesque dans le haut de la côte de Beaver Hall

 

L'édifice a été conçu par la firme Barott & Blackader, les mêmes architectes qui ont réalisée l'édifice Aldread sur la place-d'Armes ainsi que l'édifice du Beaver Hall

C'est la gare centrale que l'on voit sur la dernière photo (son inauguration je présume)

1955? Where does this come from?

 

Yarabundi brought up this picture, which aptly demonstrates that the architect building was still standing well into the 60's.

I like how the white 1960 Pontiac Strato-Chief Diamond taxi with the dome that is the same one they still have on there, or at least until just recently, plus ca change... :D

La construction de la place Ville-Marie a pris fin en 1962, et la photo ci jointe a été prise de la place Ville-Marie !

 

Quand a-il été démoli exactement, avant la fin des années 60 mais quand ?

 

 

L'édifice Architects et le boulevard René-Lévesque/Dorchester élargi:
