What’s funny is if it were plaster/alabaster-coloured, it wouldn’t get as many downvotes. Same with CC. Maybe they both just need a good cleaning; I somehow remember CC being much more pale when I was younger.

Wow! So glad you found this unique perspective. Thanks!

OMG that works on so many levels! OK François, that’s enough from you. 😂 -
The buskers and vendors roaming up and down the Santiago Metro trains between stations is so great. They ignore the crackheads and aggressive beggars in our Métro, but you can bet the police would be on top of these people in a hurry if anyone tried to provide entertainment or sell cold drinks here!

Yeah I’d move if I were you. Seems like you’ll never be happy here.

Morning. Almost a year later… Looks like Broccolini is no longer in the running to develop this site? ACDF is showing it as a Mondev development now. -
Seems Brivia grabbed this property.

There’s little nuance. People keep pointing to REM remarking “if the Caisse can build a 67 km automated metro for $120 million a kilometre, there’s no reason other metros can’t cost that little.” Had the Caisse not gotten the deal of the century in acquiring rights and rights of way, REM likely would cost double — if not more.

Lol they are not facing the drone so you don’t need to blur them out! Also I think this is the first time I’ve seen the insides of the red Synergy Formwork walls. I’m rather surprised at how simple it all looks lol. -
Transports en commun - Discussion générale
SameGuy a répondu à un sujet de mtlurb dans Transports en commun
Oversimplified, the electrical equivalent net energy density of hydrogen is around 33 kWh/kg; using current electrolysis methods, around 50 kWh of electricity is required to produce 1 kg of hydrogen. In other words, it takes 50% more energy to produce hydrogen with the equivalent energy of the electricity used to produce it, only to turn it back into electricity to provide motive power. It’s just a stupidly inefficient way to fuel automobiles and small vehicles (the way Toyota and Honda planned to change the world), and it’s an otherwise inefficient way to power large trucks and trains, before we even consider the cost and complexity of creating a hydrogen fuel supply chain. There is a reason why the petrochemical giants want to be part of any hydrogen future, and they’ve come up with something called “blue“ hydrogen, which tries to clean up petroleum-sourced hydrogen with carbon capture. It’s nonsense. The only use case that makes any sense is to greenify small, low ridership train services that would be cost prohibitive to electrify; but the cost and complexity of transitioning to a hydrogen supply chain negates any of the savings — and then some. ETA: note, I’m going back to numbers floated by Ballard in the early aughts. I’m sure efficiencies have gone up. Maybe. But still, unless you were producing that hydrogen here in Quebec, or otherwise Denmark, the source of energy for your electrical mix then becomes a concern — even before the negative efficiency.- 1 659 réponses

Such a strong contrast with the monolith next door, it’s actually quite remarkable. I don’t hate it anywhere nearly as much as when it was still being built. Sorry, @yarabundi, I’ve changed my opinion. 😉

If I’m not mistaken, they’re pouring the roof of the 45th. I think it’s technically structurally topped out. But maybe it’s the floor.

This angle really puts a spotlight on the Vespasian and the possibilities for developing it back into a benefit for the area some way. It also highlights the entrance to the tunnel, and raises more questions about its fate and what can be done, either investing (probably too much) in it to connect to PSC, or sealing it up and giving new life to the slender parcel between the corner and the portals.
