  1. 👍🏼 No, that is exactly how I’d read it! 😁 Toutefois, si jamais mon français était aussi bon. Anyway, thanks again @Chuck-A for staying on top of all of the REM developments. Though the project has its faults, it is nonetheless very exciting for the West Island and Brossard. Hopefully the feeder bus services in the stations’ catchments can be completely overhauled to truly benefit area residents. On me décrit! 😂
  2. Decided to delete. I hate the IPB wysiwyg editor
  3. Lol ok but where I’m from, “will continue east” certainly means direction, not location! 😁 Perhaps “will continue from east of the St-Charles Boulevard ramp” would have been correct.
  4. Eurk Starting to wonder if it’s my wife writing those lines../
  5. Awesome. Merci encore pour ton enthousiasme
  6. I think it’s just missing a sub-class distinction. The direction is St-Charles sud, but the portion of St-Charles being discussed is known by locals as “north of the T-Can,” or St-Charles Nord. For example, a radio traffic report would say something like, “St-Charles southbound, north of the 40.” I was confused by it at first as well, but upon reflection I believe the public affairs team writer didn’t want to suggest the off ramp from the 40 East to St-Charles Sud would be closed. It could have been made more clear. 😁
  7. I can’t add more feedbacks today but “❤️“ from me. I think they look great, and the mini-boom of the early- to mid-80s gave us some very notable examples of modernist and hybrid restoration designs (plus the completion of Taillibert’s futurist Tower).
  8. So maybe no buzzer-beaters from half-court, but it sure sounds like an awesome project in an area that will soon explode with residential growth. Good on ya! I can’t wait to hear more about it!
  9. Complètement d’accord. Tout simplement parce qu'un certain style ne convient pas à ses goûts personnels, cela ne signifie pas que nous devrions diminuer sa place dans le pedigree architectural de la ville.
  10. Agree 100%. I’m looking forward to the architecture, and I’m all for density, it’s just a bit melancholy that the “Big 5” will be mostly crowded out of prominence. Sun Life, Château Champlain, RBC, Cathédrale (KPMG) and even Basilique Notre Dame are all also iconic in spite of being dwarfed. I really have my fingers crossed that the 120m La Baie takes its proper place next to KPMG.
  11. That’s a really great idea! 👍🏼 What’s the vertical clearance like?
  12. Jeez seems like for decades, the skyline was dominated by CIBC, 1 PVM and Bourse, until along came 1000 DLG and 1250 RL. Pretty soon they’ll all be lost in the jungle of bland max-height condos and a few unique office towers.
  13. The old Bell Canada tower? I think it’s another modernist design I rather like. Different strokes, I guess. Do they stand out on the skyline? Sure. But certainly not in a bad way IMHO.
  14. That’s a fantastically good answer, @Né entre les rapides!! Mille fois merci!
  15. Yes, so why does CDPQi keep getting asked about it? Marc Garneau last spoke about it in September and said no decisions will be made until after the federal election in October. Has anyone asked Minister Garneau about it since then?
  16. Yes that’s really cool (get it? Cool!) but I’m a little concerned what happens to them if the Lachine branch of the Pink line or Notre-Dame line or whatever ever gets the green light. It’s a safe bet that any southwest LRT will make use of the old CN ROW along Victoria.
  17. Lol 😂 Hey, à chacun son whatever
  18. They could’ve spent a bit more money to plant slightly more mature trees. Almost five years after planting most are still twigs. Knowing the cold wind that tunnels down University Robert-Bourassa, I’d be surprised if these tiny saplings survive a few more winters. Il y’a cinq ans déjà
  19. Off topic but I really hope the Place des Montréalaises doesn’t end up as stark as Parc Bonaventure still looks after four years.
  20. Indeed! Super! Et merci @Windex, ça renforce que je trouve toujours magnifique le 2001 McGill College.
  21. That’s been their boilerplate answer for two years. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
