  1. If only we had the climate for it... Singapore has green buildings on almost every block, more than anywhere else I’ve been. http://m.interiordesign.net/articles/16140-8-sustainably-designed-and-architecturally-significant-buildings-in-singapore/
  2. How far south of Central are the lines “electrified”?
  3. Cool! I knew we might be on the same page. 😀
  4. I’m not even sure Chambly’s potential ridership could justify traditional “commuter rail” (the way it’s done here). The exo1 Vaudreuil line is already about to become exo’s busiest corridor with the retirement of DM from the roster, and its service is downright miserable by modern standards. $750 million would be soooooooo much better spent electrifying and upgrading the Vaudreuil line to modern, 2-way all-day service.
  5. Not being negative, but comparing a Mascouche-like ghost branch of a surface line to the Métro “Bois-Franc extension” is like comparing apples to Oranges (pun intended), no? The Métro extension is infinitely more useful than a long, automated light metro to a small exurb that has no studies showing any potential ridership. It’s political pork, pure and simple. Now, talk to me about a Cartierville-Laval REM antenna from Bois-Franc, with an Orange Line extension to BF (and this completing the Laval loop line)? Now I’m interested.
  6. Imagine, even at the low end, extending REM would be a Billion dollars to cross 20km of farm fields for a potential 5000 riders a day. Reserved bus lanes are a much better idea.
  9. Does anybody know if the McGill link will be just a bare tunnel, or more like RÉSO with kiosks or shops?
  10. Now show him a picture of Sud-Ouest!
  11. ... Ou peut-être que la gare de l'aéroport sera toujours ouverte d'ici la fin de 2023, mais la mention d'une entrée de service «2024» est pour le nouveau terminus possible à la gare de Dorval? 🤔🤞🏼
  12. Same. The big airport renovation project is in limbo now, and projections show air traffic won’t return to 2019 levels until 2024 at the earliest. Agree that it leaves a door open for the Dorval Circle extension along with a revamp of the intermodal station above.
  14. Les vrais activités d’LG-Anne s’amorcent!!
  15. One quick clarification: the “station that’s already built” is under the check-in area of the transborder jetty and the Marriott Hotel, but that is actually just below the surface and would have required a brief cut-and-cover tunnel exiting to the south to eventually join the A20 rights of way to the city. The REM will reach YUL from the North, passing deep under the airfield, and REM station is actually being built underneath the multilevel parking structure directly in front of the main terminal as part of what was, pre-CoViD, a huge $2.5B renovation of the airport’s land-side facilities.
  16. I also don’t get paid handsomely to write copy for a company managing $400B in assets lmao
  17. 👍🏼 No, that is exactly how I’d read it! 😁 Toutefois, si jamais mon français était aussi bon. Anyway, thanks again @Chuck-A for staying on top of all of the REM developments. Though the project has its faults, it is nonetheless very exciting for the West Island and Brossard. Hopefully the feeder bus services in the stations’ catchments can be completely overhauled to truly benefit area residents. On me décrit! 😂
