  1. 6332 used to be a standalone Dairy Queen for a long, long time. I went there almost daily when I worked just across Westhill at Waddell Aquatics scuba store from the mid-80s to the early-90s, and lived on Belgrave.
  2. Wellll, sur le viaduc ferroviaire principal en plein centre-ville… on ne verrait jamais cela dans une ville mondiale européenne ou asiatique.
  3. Lol no problem. I know a little too little about my city outside the West Island and NDG.
  4. CF n’a pas de terrains à Kirkland. À Pte-Claire, par contre, c’est une Cold War qui brasse.
  5. A really puzzling dichotomy. People in tank tops and flip-flops hurrying from DLS Métro across the mall past Dior-clad socialites heading to Tiffany. Head-scratcher.
  6. They absolutely are, but I don’t know the terms of their deal with Carbonleo.
  7. It’s like a broken record. The types of shoppers the mall hopes to attract don’t use public transport. This isn’t Manhattan. Oh wait, the wealthy shoppers in Manhattan are already in the centre of the city, they don’t need to go to malls in the suburbs.
  8. Nah. I went to my dealership yesterday, on JT at the corner of DLS, at 13:30. Going there from the West Island, it took longer to pass Kraft and the Royalmount site than it did to get to Kraft from St-Charles; returning, the stretch from Ste-Croix to the Côte-de-Liesse circle near Audi Prestige took longer than the rest of the trip, aller-retour, combined. It’s just a mess, 16 hours a day.
  9. It’s got a ways to go. The perimeter is about here:
  10. “Lower Westmount,” thanks to gentrification, no longer carries the same stigma it did when I was a kid.
  11. Westmount-Adjacent. 😉
  12. It isn’t really a hub at all right now. STM buses stop at the exo station, but the VIA station is completely disconnected, and shuttling to and from the airport is inefficient on a good day, and almost impossible at rush hours — ie: at 15 minutes, walking is quicker.
  13. Lol no, I got the blue crown right after Rocky. I meant your last jab at him (“tu as un ami?”) was top-level trolling. You’re the real MVP.

I’m really puzzled by the Orwellian podium.
  15. This was primordial to the Dorval integrated transit hub project anyway, so how is it a problem? The 2009ish vision didn’t foresee a subterranean metro from directly north, but rather a surface stub from the west (at roughly boulevard Albert-de-Niverville, along which the Airport Express was to have emerged from beneath the Marriott/transborder headhouse). But other than that, the reimagined transit hub was indeed to feature all available modes: AMT suburban trains (exo1 now), VIA, Airport Express, and STM buses.
  16. That’s what SHE said
  17. FWIW, the second tunnel under the tracks is built, but the roads on either side are not.
  18. The original 2009 design would’ve been great had they completed it as designed. They only bothered to complete perhaps 35%.
