  1. It's a shame they couldn't put windows on this blind wall; it would give a great view onto the Esplanade.
  2. Doctor D

    3157 Verdun

Actually project looks like it stopped dead: look at the age of the boards and the graffiti.
  3. Great pics for their publicity: just photoshop the finished building behind all the pedestrians.
  4. I am a bit confused: there is a Baie d'urfe station already and the Ste-Anne stop is 800 meters from the John Abbott College, a 10 minute walk. Also, I have friends who teach at Johan Abbott and they tell me most students at Abbott are from the West Island, and many have cars or get dropped off.
  5. If you expand the Dorion station, there is the possibility of having one existing spur that already goes pretty close to the hospital and another that goes pretty close to St Lazare. No need to crate a new line (although the commuter train will have to share with freight trains).
  6. Parisian hated the Eiffel Tower and look how that turned out: https://allthatsinteresting.com/why-was-the-eiffel-tower-built
  7. You are right, this project is across the street from the Will & Rich, so what is this project? (picture taken last week) Google maps says it us 1746 William but nothing comes up for that address.
  8. Isn't the definition of insanity doing the same thing over and over, expecting different results? https://architizer.com/blog/inspiration/industry/death-ray-buildings/
  9. Nice colouring! Almost looks too good to be real.
  10. Looking at Norman's image, if they finish the podium and leave it like that for a decade or two, it offers the occupants of phase 1, Lavalin 1, Residences Encore across the street, and the Maritime Transport building more sunshine and a pretty good view.
  11. No, I just know how rich people think. The developers definitely know how to reach their target audience: "Un riche héritage se dévoile".😁
  12. If you have to ask the price you can't afford it.
  13. Although I love your idea, as you point out, RVH is not exactly in a neutral location. It is literally across the street from McGill's Strathcona Building (right side of image). The Hôtel-Dieu needs to be repurposed ad it is farther from McGill, closer to UQAM, and easily accessible to U de M by public transit (11 stops on bus 129), and Concordia: 17 minutes travel by bus 24 (7 stops) or bus 144 (9 stops), a lot cheaper than digging another REM station.
  14. They are on the move! July 7, 2021
  15. Taking a long time to clean up!
  16. Couldn't find a reference to this project: 103 units with 6 stories, right off the canal and claims to have rentals as well. Will & Rich Condo https://www.montrealguidecondo.ca/en/will-rich-apartments/23350/
  17. Actually most of those spaces in the image are the back of Victorian Greystones on Bishop so unless they do something like the project on 1238 Bishop, nothing will happen there for a long time. There is a small annex of 1425 RL that might be a possibility, but most of what you are looking at has been recently renovated. I believe it is the poor condition of the lot on Mackay that gives it that "Harlem Seventies" look.
  18. My questions was is it possible to build from the inside out and your pictures demonstrates we can so thanks.
  19. That would be a great way to repurpose a classic building and increase pedestrian traffic; it is a very quiet area right now, which could be used as a selling point.
