    Seriously can’t wait for this. As an initial rejuvenation of the fleet it’s an amazing first step, but real modernization will only happen when electrification takes place.

    The Renaissance trains built in 1995-1999 by Metro-Cammell aren’t that old; the old Budd sleepers that still occasionally do overnight services for VIA date to the 1950s!

    Nice, thanks for the flashbacks! I saw the Police, English Beat, and Corbeau at Molson Stadium in 82, and I think that was one of the last major shows there. Any way to find out if there were some later concerts there?

    The first Forum concert I went to that broached the $20 mark was Roger Waters in 1984 (The Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking tour), $21 fourth row on the floor. Earlier that spring we saw The Clash (Combat Rock) for $13 first row reds. After Waters, never saw another A-list show for less than $20. Nowadays the cover charge for a bar with a touring band is $20.

    Je préfère ne pas le dire, mais je ne travaille plus pour AC. Je suis avec la seule autre compagnie aérienne héritée à YUL qui est entièrement dotée de ses propres employés (autres que les mécaniciens d'aéronefs).

    Ah yes, the 767 compactors! I was always grateful that the Commissary (then Cara, then later Gate Gourmet) were responsible for the trash. I had to remove the compacted trash to do some work in the aft galley on fin 604 once and nearly crapped myself as it was so heavy! 😂

    It hasn’t changed too much, but there are a lot of mature trees around the property now and the location is still pretty great. Some of the buildings have been renovated in the past 20 years or so.

    This is the one ethereal proposal that bugs me right now. It’s a good one, it makes sense for the church (and its long-term survival), yet it’s unlikely to ever move beyond this phase.
