Moderniser le centre de contrôle et l’ATC pour toute la ligne est un coût d’entretien et de soutien du système au complet. C’est comme relier les coûts du projet d’accessibilité de tout le système à l’extension Lavallois à cause qu’ils ont bâti les stations là avec des ascenseurs.

J’entends trop souvent ces excuses. Y a des villes partout dans le monde avec des conditions climatiques semblables qui n’ont aucun problème poursuivre de grands projets d’infrastructure. Helsinki, Stockholm, Moscou, partout en Chine. Par contre il y a aussi plusieurs avec des chaleurs torrides qu’on ne connaît pas du tout, et eux aussi construisent des infrastructures plus vite, plus solide, et moins cher que chez nous. La température ne doit jamais être une béquille pour excuser un système bien corrompu.

Ok so they’re not as sleek as I expected, but what I find more surprising is that the glass isn’t tinted or screened.

We watched Banksy & The Rise Of Outlaw Art a few weeks ago. While it’s not an exceptional documentary, it does provide some counterweight to most of the other “urban culture” films and docos out there and is still very interesting. As much as I think both endorsed and illicit street art can embellish a cityscape, tagging and the vast majority (IMO, >99.999%) of it is neither of value nor of benefit, but rather simply vandalism and a blight.

Not to bump a dormant thread, but just realized that the report commissioned by the feds suggests that daily ridership for this one single station on a <1km extension of a stub branch line could be as much as one-tenth the projected ridership of the entire 32km, 23 station, $10B REM-B. Wtf?

I’m loving that somewhere in one of the REM threads it was mentioned that rebuilding the two train stations and bus terminus into and intermodal station with the REM would cause a lot of disruption on the adjacent Circle and highway. 🙄😂😂

Lion doesn’t make city full size buses and has no pedigree. I’ve never heard of “Arrival” as a bus manufacturer. Alstom makes a really cool electric bus (Aptis) that I’ve seen being tested in Santiago but I’ve seen no heavy-duty harsh climate test results. The New Flyer Xcelsior XE60 electric is currently the most widely tested articulating bus for our climate, and gets 230-400 km on a charge in winter conditions.

Rien à faire avec la politique en ce cas. Le mandat donné à la Caisse était d’offrir un propos pour desservir l’aéroport. C’était à la Caisse de plonger aux deux pieds dans la spéculation immobilière en préparant des TOD ou en demandant la dîme aux promoteurs.

Maybe next time one of the two so-dem parties will win and PMR and RPP will get anything they want. 🙂 Oh wait. Then the West Island and anywhere along Decarie or Sherbrooke West will get nothing at all. ☹️

18 ans à l’aéroport pour moi, et presque toute ma vie dans L’West Island. Le rond point en bas a toujours était d’la marde, et les accès aux autoroutes et l’avenue Dorval - peu importe quelle direction - toujours bourrés et chiants. Enfin nous avons des accès de/à la 20 EST assez fluides, mais that’s it that’s all... après 12 ans (and counting) et quelques $450 millions.
