  1. I'm totally OK with the architectural firm on this one. Remember, they also did L'Avenue which (IMO) is one of Montreal's more stunning new buildings. This has less to do with the firm but rather their client's intent and in this case the intent is obviously flawed.
  2. What the actual eff is that!? Also, TDC2 seems to be completely changed too.....and different from their own posters around the job site! Enough of this already. I'm doubting the entire QUAD vision now.
  3. So nice of them to talk all about inspiration and whatnot but then avoid posting any renderings. Based on the 567 unit count though, at 55 floors this will be MUCH wider than TDC2 or the condos will be MUCH smaller. Man that's a lot of units.....
  4. All they need now is a moat..... Has anyone been able to find out WHY they did this?
  5. This thing is going to be stunning when its done. Maybe I'm the only one but I think the money spent on lighting the Jacques Cartier bridge should have been rolled into this one to let Moment Factory have some fun.
  6. Did anyone notice the large difference in the renderings? The one on the SMI site doesn't even look like this project at all.
  7. This demolition is going to take some time. There's a ton of asbestos in those buildings that will need to be removed before the major work begins.
  8. I'm still liking it a lot except for the odd cut of the east-facing facade. Why not continue the window pop-outs to the base?
  9. I believe the 14 floor went to 16 since the 20 floor was supposed to be Phase 3.
  10. Talk about a sales flip. I was looking at a unit on the 12th floor in the exact same position. Pre construction price was $425K.
  11. You can totally tell how that picture went down: - Painter is hanging off building and PR shill leans over the edge PR person: "Hey man, get up here! Quick! The mayor needs a picture with you in front of this mural!" Painters: "WTF? Can't you see I'm busy and this thing isn't done yet!?" PR person: "Don't you know it's ELECTION TIME!? This painting won't be done till AFTER the election and we need this picture NOW!" Result: Codere grinning like a doofus in front of yet another incomplete Montreal project while painters look like they would like to be back on that wall.
  12. Sorry, how the heck does this even happen? The lack of professional practice in this town knows no ends.
  13. C'mon guys, we all know what this will be. - ~22 floors - Finished in Griffintown Grey / Beige (or a combination thereof) - be it prefab cement board or aluminum panels - Of suspect quality once finished - It's Devimco.... Nothing interesting to see here.
  14. Supposedly ~65% sold in pre sales alone....even before the sales office opens to the general "public". Wow.
  15. So is this an announcement of an RFQ from potential suppliers? If so, I'd love to see Proterra get a kick at the can; their technology is widely used and seems to be extremely well received.

    Quinzecent - 37 étages

I'm hoping it will be LESS that 120m. We need some height variation since -especially from the south- Rene Levesque is starting to look like a picket fence due to there being little to no north / south development of 100M+ structures.
  17. Sorry guys, I happen to like it. Fits well with its environment as a bridge between the "old" and "new" parts of the city. More importantly the design doesn't use the Griffintown Grey look or generic glass curtain wall approach, both of which are way to overused. IMO, it looks upscale and elegant.
  18. That's.......terrible. I know art is subjective but round things upon a wall isn't quite art......its round things on a black wall.
  19. I heard that the "reveal" and pre sales for TDC3 would be going live during the week of October 9th. That would make sense since its the week of the Canadiens first home game.
  20. The image at the beginning of this thread is of the older 42 floor version.
  21. Real estate agents and "investors". Expect a good number of those units to be up on MLS in the next few weeks....
  22. $220,000 per job doesn't seem to be all that bad considering the various industries that will need to be set up surrounding the Foxconn plant. IMO at least..... The real question is whether or not those will be high paying jobs or simple manual labor positions that go for $12/hr in the USA.
  23. One thing is pretty obvious: someone, somewhere has a very close "relationship" with Permacon / Techo Bloc and manufacturers of prefab paving slabs.
  24. Oh please. You are living DOWNTOWN, live with it!
  25. Let's talk about this again when we see the gag-worthy price tag the MLB will charge for that and how many hundreds of millions are demanded by the eventual ownership group to build a stadium.
