Les membres du conseil ont adopté en première lecture deux nouveaux projets particuliers de construction, de modification ou d'occupation d'un immeuble qui mettront en valeur un ensemble d'intérêt patrimonial dans le Mille carré doré et favoriseront le dynamisme culturel du Quartier des spectacles. Tous deux ont reçu un avis favorable du comité consultatif d'urbanisme.

 

Situé à l'intersection de l'avenue du Docteur-Penfield et de la rue Simpson, le premier concerne une propriété comprenant deux bâtiments, soit une résidence de deux étages et une dépendance en fond de cour. Ce projet prévoit la restauration et l'intégration du bâtiment principal, son agrandissement sur quatre étages de même que la réhabilitation et l'intégration de la dépendance. Le complexe compterait six maisons en rangée et quatre appartements aux niveaux supérieurs, un stationnement intérieur et un toit vert.

My eyes!!! And they use stock photos that have nothing to do with the project to showcase finishes... That's a bit misleading IMO

I have more problems with the original greystone. It looks pretty bad in the image, but wasn't it just restored? I kind of like new brown brick construction better, but haven't seen it all in context, like the more modern brick building across the stre that we partially see in one of the photos.

In fact the only thing that really bothers me is how much of the awesome little stone wall will be discarded. Could have been reused for the first floor, or somehow at penthouse-level.

 

As for the red brick it is kinda similar to the 1903-built Trafalgar School across the street so not too bad.
