  1. In todays Gazette https://montrealgazette.com/sponsored/realestate-sponsored/la-tour-fides-is-a-chance-to-live-in-a-piece-of-montreal-history
  2. Mark Twain once said of Montreal: “You can't throw a stone without hitting a church window”. Modern version “You can't throw a rock without hitting a grue”
  3. I came across this on 914 Avenue Querbes yesterday across from Parc Pierre_Dansereau: does anyone know what it is? Could it be part of the Middle Island Coop (MIL Coop)? https://journalmetro.com/local/outremont-mont-royal/2776081/91-nouveaux-logements-sociaux-dans-outremont/ Is there already a post for this?
  4. Thanks for the clarification. That is one huge complex! Is there a separate thread for each stage of the project?
  5. Actually coming out of the ground.
  6. You are correct! Great news but do you have any information on a time line? There are quite a few "orange" paths yet to be realized.
  7. Good points and I like your idea on Salley: if they changed the zoning it could end up being like the transformation in NDG on De Maisonneuve. De Maisonneuve used to be light industry from Decaire to Cavendish but over the past few years, close 50% has been transformed (or is being transformed) into condos, adding to density and changing the feel of the area from industrial to residential. Also, the tracks behind Salley have been removed so the space next to the electric pillars could be made into a bike path that could connect to Angrignon Park.
  8. This is such a strange location: I grew up in LaSalle and the electrical towers/tracks signal the end of the the commercial area of Dollard. The site is surrounded on three sides by unpleasant views: to the north, tracks and power lines, to the west, Salley is a kilometre of bland industrial buildings, and to the east you have a view of the city's water filtration plant. True, you are close to the bike path on the aqueduct (bike path in the picture alludes to it), but from the project you would have to cross La Vérendrye which is basically an urban highway. The location sounds good on paper so it might attract buyers who don't know the area.
  9. Update on project July 28, 2022 and a tour of the next three blocks on Decarie, all with major projects. Royalmount effect?
  10. Great idea, much needed but you can't build that project for $354,000. Could that number be just for infrastructure or preparing the lot?
  11. With a budget of $354,000 it can only be some minor infrastructure work that will hardly be noticed.
  12. Best venu for concerts in Montreal ever. Even had "cheap seats" (free) from the bridge.
  13. AND managed to strategically place trees in the rendering to hide the hideous parking lot that goes between it and the park. Very sneaky.
