  1. Would've been sexier as 2 less fat towers on the same basilaire connected by sky bridges.. Or something that gives it more negative space.. Now this fatty looks like 2 separate towers Frankensteined together. She ain't ugly. Beauty comes in all sizes. But she sure makes the skyline feel like a plateau..
  2. I like it but I hope they're not going bright yellow over the Lachine canal.
  3. Yup. The connectivity is diverse. I was just pointing it out because I asked why 900 st Jacques didn't seem to be connected to the RÉSO and had an equally diverse set of answers from: "general rule, RÉSO is for commercial buildings" to "insurance makes it complicated". Investment in the RÉSO should be just as important as bicycle paths for the downtown core. Here's an example - I work on bleury and président Kennedy. I used to take the RÉSO all the way from PB in the winter. When the renovations on tdb and the construction of art de vivre started, road closures on ste cath made bus schedules unreliable, I found myself driving in the winter. One extra car on the road. I'm not proud of it but when you work the hours I do, small things can make a difference. All this to say, the RÉSO should be expanded at every chance possible. But this is just my humble opinion from personal experience and not based on any polls.
  4. So there you have it. It's not strictly office buildings only that connect to the RÉSO..
  5. There is literally... a laundry list... of buildings in this city that need power washing.
  6. Exactly. We're not pouring blue paint over cracked concrete here. I quite like this splash of color. It reminds me of the giant French fry on the tullamarine expressway in Melbourne.
  7. Imagine if that was the street level entrance to the building. Just gorgeous and the scale of it will take your breath away.
  8. That parking lot and bureau en gros needs to go. If this boom keeps up, I'm positive we'll get good news in the future 🤞
  9. Does anyone Know what is happening with this building. It's been wearing a burkha for the longest time but nothing seems to be happening anymore...
  10. Haha. From this angle in the first picture, we have nice slender buildings and a pleasing skyline to look at I think. A little more zoomed out with the fatties and it gets a bit lost. (Today was a beautiful day to be on Mont Royal. I don't know what those mountains are in the far distance on the right but it was nice to see them.)
  11. I just wanted to show that it's perhaps not always taller buildings that are needed but slimmer and more slender ones. City blocks here tend to be quite large. Alot of cities have height restrictions but more striking skylines due to having more slender or tapered off buildings. Our BN is helped by distinctly different textures from the different window patterns that will break up the imposing nature of this Goliath. De plus, j'ai appris quelque chose de nouveau aujourd'hui. Distorted ne veut pas dire la même chose en anglais et en français.
  12. There. Fixed. Just need to distort reality. Nothing to it.
  13. Je ne savais pas que le CC avait des bureaux dans cette tour ! Le st James est-il également fermé ? J'ai essayé de le réserver mais leur site web est manquant.. (sorry everyone else I know I'm massively off topic here!)
  14. Tell me about it. I was looking at booking a hotel for my parents when they come visit over Christmas and Marriott was dominant. And I think moxy is Marriott too?
  15. What's your point? That you know your marriot hotels?
  16. The Marriott is not an office tower but a hotel like this one and yet is connected underground. I can buy the slip road reason though.
  17. Sheesh calme toi 🙄 Just wondering why they didn't want to link it underground to PB and join the network. With winter and all. Just seemed like a missed opportunity.
  18. Definitely won't be the biggest parking lot for such a tall building. Probably no basement stores as well seeing that it's not connected to the RÉSO. Not the most inviting streets around either in terms of walking. And no overhead walkway to connect to the surrounding buildings. I'm curious on the connectivity of this building.
  19. 30 years down the road on mtlurb "I can't believe they almost demolished these charming maisonettes for an ugly black box."
  20. People love height waivers until it's in their own backyards 🙄
  21. Hopefully that parking lot goes soon. Maybe the city will swap out the limit on the building height there for a social housing project in st Henri. 🙄 But I think at least 30 floors will be nice.
  22. That last picture. Scary. Want a scary costume for Halloween? Go as a prefab building..
  23. Most of the new buildings in multimedia city (except for Duke) are just as hideous and house tiny cramped shoebox condos with cheap construction... Multimedia city = Griffintown east..
