  1. Sure. Whatever works for you.
  2. On the contrary I love the betterment of minority rights in this province. The silver lining of this project is the Cree participation. I love that they are stepping back up to the lands that were snatched from them. What I am criticizing is the poor architecture. The end.
  3. It's in the equally fugly cité multimédia. Tragic but it fits right in with its surroundings. Next. 🙄
  4. My god we could take a portion of the building and draw a T-Rex over it and still sell it to the susceptible masses 🙄
  5. Oh please, we have ugly crap like this all over montreal too. Even Christmas in Montreal is a pathetic affair.
  6. Unless you have a leg span of 20m, I'm sure you can avoid stumbling into it. Plus most people wanna cross that bridge to connect to the pathway on the opposite side of the canal. My god we find every little thing to complain about 🙄
  7. This building will have one of the best views in town. Sunset over the city and Mont Royal on one side with excellent views of the fireworks and the old port on the other side. Plus easy access to the highway and REM. And the best part about living in it is not having to look at this ugly thing. Time to bring out the check book..
  8. Yes. We were all holding our breaths, clutching a picture of the sands around a fire and singing kumbaya. I'm devastated that it didn't work 🙄
  9. Yet another hideous prefab project on a decent lot. #mtlmoments
  10. What are we expecting? Some elvish gate with sparkly blue fleur-de-lis adorning it? 🙄 Many elevated rail structures don't even have railings.
  11. Let's just be thankful they weren't inspired by highway 20 during their renovations and decide to paint the ugly girl blue.
  12. Too bad about the lack of public parking to cater to the new crossroads of furniture and home stores... Actually forget public parking, even loading bays would be nice. Can't believe the city doesn't have proper by-laws for things like loading bays, guest parking where commercial exists or alleyways for trash collection.. "But the REM is coming.. in 2024“ “But there's the bus.. On a détour and subject to ever-changing road closures" "But there's the REV.. guess you could put a mug in your basket" "But there's Uber.. Oh yeah, can't haul a small dining set in that." Nevermimd, I'll just go to dix30 or st léonard with à uhaul instead. The end.
  13. What is in that monstrosity amyway. It let's out loud and extended turbine like sounds at random times of the day. You can hear it from blocks away. Almost sounds like Optimus prime being tortured.
  14. Just went to check it out. I was expecting to hate it but was pleasantly surprised. Definitely customized to the Griffintown clientale - sort of like la shop by BMR. They did well in my opinion.
  15. The third rail is a viable option for the REM east which won't be connected to the current REM. So yes, it is worth mentioning. On that vein, catenaries have already been built so unless you want them painted like candy canes for Christmas, it's just as empty a discussion. And unless we are all going to sit down together and pen a beautiful letter to developers and stakeholders with our beautiful sketches and idealistic ideas then yes, all we are doing here on every forum is debating, complaining and complimenting stuff. Some people complain a festival ground is too empty when not in use, some complain a building is too fat, the skyline is not tall enough, they didn't get enough gravy on their poutine, whatever - it's a forum. Geez. Remember when you were so upset the aerial structure behind Costco was ruining the aesthetic? Yeah, me too 🙄
  16. The answer is a third rail. Catenaries are ugly af. In fact alot of European cities themselves are disfigured by them. Even overhead tram cables. Basically, it's difficult to make hanging cables look nice. North America generally has function placed over form.
  17. It's actually quite nice when the fountains are turned on. In the summer people eat their lunch around there. It's a festival ground.. It's better than having a sandy decrepid piece of land where the grass never grows back after each show.. Or a parking lot we occasionally clear out for festivals. I'm actually impressed a city would spend the money on a festival ground, it's not something you see in alot of cities. It is what it is and it ain't half bad. Next.
  18. Yeah. It's gonna look awful too. But not rusty at least. Wish they just used a damned third rail for this project..
  19. I thoroughly hated those rusty old structures and to them I say - bye Felicia
  20. I was hoping they would but they attached a shiny new structure onto it. Seems over the top as a mitagation measure. Though I've seen them do some pretty questionable things in this city..
  21. Les trains amtrak et VIA Rail utilisent tous deux du diesel. Même pour les nouveaux trains. Donc peu probable je pense.
  22. Seems like the old rusty catenary structures on the viaduct south of wellington will stay and be retrofitted to carry the REM wires. They seem to have added new elements to them instead of removing them like the ones north of wellington..
