  1. Fabulous. If CF can deliver some (three) 180-200 metre towers [at 600 Peel], the skyline will be dramatically transformed into a more modernised looking city (along with the addition of TDC 3 and Lucien L'Allier). Good photos sulreva:-)
  2. 50 metres (at least) too short. The purple (violet) was cool.
  5. The 170 was compromised ... they did not get what they originally wanted. The article says that. So when the title of the article says it was submitted to the OCPM ... that's fake news? I never said a request was made (formal or otherwise) for 600 Peel.
  6. These articles support what I was saying. You are correct- it was for TDC Towers 2 and 3 that was requested. I expressly wrote: (TDC 2 and 3 will be 166 meters) in my post you quoted. Links 1 & 3 mention the OCPM by name. FAKE NEWS? 1. The Cadillac Fairview towers submitted to the OCPM: http://journalmetro.com/actualites/montreal/437419/le-projet-de-deux-nouvelles-tours-de-cadillac-fairview-soumis-a-locpm/ 2. A promoter wants to build higher http://www.tvanouvelles.ca/2014/01/29/un-promoteur-veut-construire-plus-haut 3. SCARF-SKY CLOSE CLOSE TO BELL CENTER http://plus.lapresse.ca/screens/7700f4cb-1fff-4496-ab5a-6455c52d411e__7C___0.html In the 3rd link it reads; CF and its partners - Canderel, the QFL Real Estate Fund and the Canadian Hockey Club - seem ready to move quickly. The consortium has already submitted to the Montreal Public Advisory Office (OCPM) an alternative scenario, which includes two 47-storey and 170-meter towers south of the Bell Center . The article below went into detail about the request for 210 meters (to the OCPM) for 750 Peel: 4. CADILLAC FAIRVIEW WANTS TO BUILD UP www.pressreader.com/canada/la-presse/.../282179354731034 - Translate this page If the 210 meter zone is already there, Cadillac Fairview will have the ability to accommodate the future. - Brian Fahey, president of Cadillac Fairview-mandated urban planning firm .... Unfortunately, the link is now broken. FAKE NEWS? You got 4-likes and 4-thank you saying I put up fake news. How is it fake? I do not have anything to do with the American press writing "fake news" about Donald Trump or putting fake news on this site. CF got 170 for TDC 2 and 3- but they wanted more- and the request was made to the OCPM as per the article. Show me the fake news. The request for 210 for 750 Peel was made to the OCPM (only a part of the link remains). I did not make that up.
  7. Yes, I knew. CF knew it too- that's why they applied for 210 meters;-)
  8. CF has not had good luck requesting to build higher than the stated guidelines. They wanted to build the TDC towers 180 metres high. The OPCM said no- only 170 maximum (TDC 2 and 3 will be 166 metres). CF wanted 210 metres for 750 Peel (or else they would have to reevaluate their investment). The OPCM said no again. If anything gets built at 750 Peel, the current plans is for 2 "tree stump" office buildings. Now comes the time for 600 Peel. I'm sure CF wants to build to 210 metres (most likely in part because Broccolini plans to put a supertall condo near the proposed new NBC headquarters). Again, the OPCM has to give the "green light" to build to such a height. The expression is "3ed time a charm". Hopefully, CF will get the "green light" this time. I'm still waiting for my orange 180 meter office tower.
  9. Penses-y. Cela me semble bon.
  11. I like them (Broccolini). Tom Condos needed them (Broccolini) - that's for sure. Broccolini has no competition . I hope CF can do something closer to the original 12 year plan with the Quad Windsor project. I have no doubt all 3 of the TDC towers will come to fruition, and the work done on the Station looks nice. The plan for the 750 Peel towers turned out to be mis-step. The presently proposed business towers should be consolidated into one tower instead of several "nabots". The proposed towers at 600 Peel? Well, we will see. I know CF at one point applied to the TDC towers and the 750 Peel towers taller than permitted. The limit for the TDC towers got increased. As far as I know the increase for the 750 peel portion got denied. Did that affect CF's bottom line / stance? Good question.
  12. Bon travail.
  13. True. I just wrote that the article confirmed that "a new skycraper" - the NBC HQ or the proposed Broccolini tower - would be at least as tall as The Avenue. I did not mean to confuse anyone. I'm just glad at least one of those buildings is going to be 180m tall. I did not specify which one. Of course, this (180m) is tall enough to change the skyline. Imagine if both the NBC tower and the Broccolini are at least 180m (add TDC 2 & 3; and Lucien L'Allier). Wow, downtown is going to look nice.
  14. This article gives some confirmation that a new skyscraper "at least the height of the Avenue" will be constructed. An addition to the 180 meter (tall) club is on the way. https://renx.ca/national-bank-buys-new-montreal-hq-site-broccolini/ National Bank ( NA-T ) will spend about $ 500 million to build a new office in Montreal. The planned 36-storey tower at the corner of St. Jacques Street and Robert Bourassa Boulevard will be built on an 85,000-square-foot plot of the Broccolini in a finalized deal on Monday. The bank did not disclose the amount paid for the land. "It's a big site ," says Jean Langlois, director of communications and marketing at Broccolini, adding "we're definitely looking at building something in the same spirit and at least the same height as The Avenue. " No plans or designs for the building have been finalized, says Breton, noting there will be an invited architectural competition in the coming months. “We want to obtain a distinctive signature for Montreal,” he says, given the building will serve as an entry point to motorists entering downtown from the former Bonaventure Expressway. The area has been transformed recently into an urban boulevard with art installations.
  15. Thanks SkahHigh- I was looking for a building of comparable size and dimension as a reference model. The article said the new HQ would be one of the tallest buildings in Montreal. Maybe not. The TDC towers (2 & 3 at 166m tall) would be still be taller than this proposed new HQ. The new HQ would just be wider. I hope BNC will stick with one tall building and not build two shorter buildings instead. It will take a building with a height of at least 165m to change the skyline from all angles of view.
  16. I agree. This project has been in the works for six (6) years. Of course, money likely played a part in the delay(s). The most recent plan was for 40/41 stories and 128 metres. A couple more floors were added (now 45 floors). Hahaha, I bet it's still 128 metres tall (or less)- by lowering the ceilings to add floors.
  18. Okay, I can live with that- 14 more stories to go. We know TDC II (at 166 metres) has to be taller that the Deloitte Tower (the 2 towers now appear almost the same height). The 14 floors more will make the difference. The Stock Exchange Tower looks so lonely off in the distance in the second picture of the last photo set (by Rocco). Remember they had specs for 3 (bourse) towers back in the '60's when they built that tower? Salut, tout le monde! I put a couple bottles on ice for later on just before midnight.
  23. franktko answered me a few weeks ago that: " It is 120m this land but on the other side of the street Gauvin, where the project Univers was supposed to go up, it is 200 + m". I did not hear anything that could make me believe that there was a possibility of a second round. That would be nice (I like the design of the model) - except that the second tower should be built on the other side of Gauvin Street where it can be built bigger.
