  1. well whatever that is I still find it looks like a stage for a concert
  2. is it just me or from this picture does the sales office look more like a stage than anything else??
  3. Agreed, I would not be surprised if in the near future some sort of high-rise goes up
  4. I past by the site today. I wasnt able to get in a picture there was too many workers on site but they are building a sales office on site
  5. Theyre getting ready to install the habs logo
  6. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCO1PGABueiZN6n7X0UeYPIQ Guys take a look at this, they have some really cooling renderings and 3D animations which are not on the website
  7. These damn height restriction! It needs to go or else l'avenue could have easily been taller

    Rioppelle : 300m, 74 étages

Here my two cents for this topic: Montreal needs this! We need this! Im not saying we need this cylinder as our first 300m building but we do need a 300m building. There is no international city that that height restrictions for any of it's building. On the cancelled projects page, there is Place Bonaventura, a proposed 300m building for Montreal where 1000 de La Gauchetière now stands, and someone posted a very interesting comment, I don't remember it completely or who wrote it but it said "ahh the days where we dreamt of competing against NYC, now were competing against Quebec city" Its totally true, not trying to take anything away from Quebec city, but were comparing apples and bowling balls, the greater Montreal area has a population of 4 million people, while the greater Quebec city area only has a population of 800,000!!! That's ridiculous, and if le Phare de Quebec is approved, pretty soon they'll have a taller building than Montreal. In the 60's 3 of our building were at one poing the TALLEST IN CANADA, (Tour CIBC, Place Ville-Marie, Montreal stock-exchange tower) and now its getting to the point where Quebec city will have taller buildings than us. Montreal needs to eliminate its 233 height limit and let us once again try and compete against cities such as Chicago, NYC, and Toronto. Yes, at first the skyline will look out of place, there is no question about it. But, when the Empire State Building was built, it too was criticized for being out of place. If we build a 300m building, other large skyscrapers will also pop up, maybe not 300m, but definitely between 233-250m and thus balancing our skyline. Also think of the views from those building. Just like sky-scrapers on 57 street in NYC, where you can see all of central park, imagine being able to have a complete birds eye view of Mount-Royal.
  9. I am really surprised they are not building a sales office on the site. With the palisade going up, it means that they will begin construction shortly, Quinzecent will be finished around the same time as YUL phase 2, RL will be truly transformed!
  10. If they are driving piles into the ground that means excavation will begin soon!!!!
  11. It is definitely changing in a good way in my opinion, now there is so much demand for high-end condos developers cannot keep up
  12. Ohh ok but it hasnt been canceled right?
  13. Wait why is Dorchester scratched off?
  14. http://www.pzrealestate.com/building/hotel-sixty/#!prettyPhoto New renderings
  15. I would not be surprised if a sales office is up in the very near future. I have already heard commercials for this project on the radio.
  16. Im sorry but i dont share your opinion, I think architecturally this building will be one of the nicer ones in Montreal, I am a big fan of how the top of the building will be illuminated. Montreal has been laging behind on its downtown developemtns. Finally, the last 5-6 years we started to wake up and buildings like this one will have a great impact on our ever-growing skyline.

    Expos de Montréal

Why does the media keep asking about this project, last April Bronfman pubically stated in an interview with RDS that he wants to public money for this project, all he wants is support by the municipal and provincial government (probably through public transportation and access to the stadium) Mitch Garber stated that he will not be involved in a project where public money is used to build a stadium. I don't know why the media keep asking politicians about this topic. I am sure Bronfman and Garber and their group have already the financement in place and are just waiting for the green light from MLB
  18. wow its looking great so far, cant wait for the tower to begin construction!
  19. sorry guys I am a little lost here, the caisse wants to use the area underneath the overpasses for the REM project, so there would be buss terminals, tickets counter restaurants?
  20. I dont know if it has to do with the project, but i noticed containers and a digger on the site.
  21. The construction is so fast, I would not be surprised if TDC3 is completed before TOM condos....
  22. LeART is a very nice building, I love how they took a rundown building on RL and completely transformed it, a lot of developers should take note. However I do believe that this type of building would be best in griffintown and not downtown. RL between Guy and St-Laurent should now be considered prime real estate, there should be a minimum height requirement of 120m.
