  1. I think the kung fu chicken was put up by the restaurant which occupies the building, it always smells very nice around the area
  2. The first stage of the CHUM that small research building (with the yellow panel) is not aging very well, looks like it was built 25 years ago
  3. Whoa chill out dude, I'm referring to the fact that these (soon to be ) 5 towers are located on the same street just blocks away from buildings that are over 180m . You tell me where the logic is in that?
  4. The stupidity of Montreal's height restriction on full display
  5. I've yet to see a rendering where this tower looks half decent, those balconies look brutal. We could be stuck with a 61 storey eyesore
  6. They should just cover these roads with dirt and gravel and be done with it, the city doesn't have a clue how to build a proper road (we're the biggest joke in north America)
  7. Those guys working for grues Guay are true professionals, top notch company
  8. agreed, there's nothing awful with this small tower
  9. they would still need concrete for the floors
  10. This building has been under construction since the ming dynasty
  11. In the end these twin towers came out looking pretty decent, great visual impact for the area (Montreal's mini hudson yards)
  12. didn't one of those concrete pumps collapse a few years back killing a construction worker, anyone remember the incident?
  13. he may be wrong about the lachine canal, but what's Montreal's excuse for the disgusting shape St.Catherine is in, the street looks like it was bombed by B52s, I would be embarrassed to take visitors down that road
  14. It's a little early to judge, but the building seems to be a lot thinner than the rendering, which is a good thing
  15. I'm all for providing affordable housing for low income families, but this nonsense of building them downtown has to stop, there's not a single major city in Canada and the U.S. that builds social housing in their downtown core for obvious reasons ,chief among them is the high cost of land (plus lack of family services like schools, parks, grocery stores.......)
  16. The towers look ok, but there's way too much space between TD3 and TD2
  17. 1000 de la Gauchetière had a concrete core if I remember correctly
  18. Passed by this afternoon the pile driver was busy at work, things are looking good for this project
  19. That part of sainte-Catherine street needs 2 or 3 more projects like this , that area is becoming a real dump with half the shops closed and an army of drunks and druggies wandering the street day and night
  20. It might look like a porker when viewed from a distance, but at street level it's a very nice building
  21. no kidding this project has been dragging on forever
  22. It certainly has a major impact on the area (good or bad)
