SameGuy Posté(e) 1 octobre 2022 Partager Posté(e) 1 octobre 2022 Preserving the row-house façades on all these projects may appear rather shallow (pardon the pun), but it’s eminently better than all the horribly monolithic podiums we see on all the new buildings along RL and SJ and elsewhere downtown. 2 2 Citer Lien vers le commentaire Partager sur d’autres sites

Couldn't agree more. The reality, in most cases, only the facades are worth preserving; the vocation of these buildings changed over 100+ years and the interiors were all altered and massacred. Especially during the rooming house years and later the bars and stores. From the back they always looked like slums IMHO (look out over them from the MMFA) and this way of adding density through façadism is also making better use of land in the rear. Finally, they are essentially going back to their original vocation: residential use. 6 4 Citer Lien vers le commentaire Partager sur d’autres sites

Et je n'oublierai jamais leur barre Mars frite 😍 2 1 Citer Lien vers le commentaire Partager sur d’autres sites
