  1. The Tampa Bay Rays have to move their HQ... 😉
  2. Ahhhh no doubt it’s for those connecting to the banned Easy Mile autonomous shuttles to the Ville-de-Mont-Royal REM station! 😁🤣🙄
  3. That said, the latest covered walkway rendering is a little odd: why would they go to all that trouble and *not* connect it directly to the De-La-Savane metro edicule?? Makes no sense to come down the stairs and go outside to walk maybe 20m to enter the edicule.
  4. I did it in both directions, it takes around 8 minutes at a fairly brisk pace, and perhaps 20 at a leisurely stroll (or standing on the travelators enjoying the scenery).
  5. Thinking about the latest renderings and proposals, an enclosed pedestrian/active walkway from Métro De La Savane station to Royalmount isn’t far-fetched, tbh. Witness the Metrolink from the Dubai Mall station to the mall/Burj Khalifa — 820m long with 10 travelators 70-120m each. https://gulfnews.com/business/tourism/commuters-hail-metro-dubai-mall-walkway-1.1124122
  6. The number of filthy dump trucks stampeding onto Côte-de-Liesse with no regard for the flowing traffic is impressive too. I nearly got flattened on Thursday, and then a big, muddy rock got kicked up by a car ahead and chipped my windshield. 🙄
  7. Why does everybody, even supposed boffins, keep conflating mixed-traffic streetcars with grade-separated, modern tramways (aka light rail)?
  8. They finally knocked down the little house in front of the old Zellers distribution centre and cleared out several trees.
  9. Though “Anne” and “Marie” are still parked for at least a few more weeks, today the NouvLR crews had several voussoirs delivered to the base of the columns at Boul St-Charles. Not sure what’s going on...
  10. It’s practically almost not even in SAdB! “Morgan” would’ve been more appropriate, as it’s the only actual waypoint close by. This station is truly in the middle of fricking nowhere. Come to think of it, the line should’ve crossed back over the 40 and the station put near something — anything — instead of encouraging sprawl on the edge of a large park. A station in the Baie-d’Urfé industrial park would make so much more sense.
  12. Really curious how the downtown stations are so close together, McGill-500m-Central-500m-Griffintown-500m-(eventual infill)Bassin... while almost all others (except TMR stations and Sunnybrooke-Roxboro) have rather large gaps. Guessing it’s (relatively) trivial to add infill stations later on? Maybe someone schooled in this could comment. Would be interesting to see stations like À-Ma-Baie and Bassin added in the next ten years in areas that actually need them (unlike A40 and Des Sources Over the next decade).
  13. The local NIMBYs are well on their way to nixing the Groupe Séléction seniors’ residence just east of Dorval Avenue, mainly because at 12 storeys it contravenes the city’s Master Plan and requires a zoning amendment. I don’t see the current NADG proposal for the rear half of the Jardins Dorval lots gaining traction as long as white boomer NIMBYs stay mobilized in the West Island. Smfh. The Rond Point/Échangeur Dorval zone is perhaps the premier TOD west of Cavendish and is overdue for densification and modernization.
  14. That's pretty standard in and around Montréal. Smh
