C'est louable de vouloir être un village d'irréductibles, mais les villageois ont des habitudes qui supportent le modèle de l'empire. L'emplacement du 2e siège social d'Amazon n'a aucun lien avec la viabilité du modèle économique mondialiste moderne.

Did you read the methodology behind this ranking? If that information means nothing to you, it doesnt mean that this survey is of weak methodology or doesnt mean anything. Having a context that is favourable to investments might not be information that validates the ego that some people (on an internet forum or not) might associate to their cities wealth, but it's an important vector for wealth in the "real world".

It's incredible that anyone would despute that, and keep banging on (more than one person) about how we aren't as large as other financial centers. This ranking comes out bi-annually ( i think), and every single time, people misunderstand this survey on purpose (it seems) just to recomfort their personnal opinions.

#2, London are number 1. As-tu lu la description de ce rapport. C'est un rapport d'opinion. Donc, dans le fond ça ne calcul pas la force (ou la grosseur) relative des centres financiers, mais plutôt l'attractivité des centres financiers. Dans ce sens, ce rapport est représentatif du potentiel d'affaire de Montréal. Donc "attractivité pour les affaires" + "bas coût opérationnel" = good times ahead. Bon, ce sont des résultats ponctuels, mais la tendance sur 10 ans (2008-17) est très encourageante (de la 30e place à 12e).

Je ne suis pas un adepte de la libéralisation des marchés, mais "it is what it is" comme dirait les français. Cependant, tu as probalement raison ACPNC, Amazon veut probablement le meilleur deal fiscal possible, et n'a potentiellement aucune intention de quitter les É-U. Cependant, il ne faut pas oublier que Jeff Bezos est absolument anti-Trump. Ça ne me surprenderait pas qu'il ne soit pas attirer par l'attitude protectionniste de Trump.

Splitting hairs as usual here. If (I'm not saying we will or won't, just being hypothetical) we do get the Amazon HQ, AC better launch a direct flight to Seattle. If they don't someone else will. So its in their best interest to do so. In that regard, it'd be right to "expect" one in the short term after such an announcement.
