My friend asked me what would I do / what needs to be done to fix Canada... my top four urgent things if I were PM.

 

1) Balance the budget as soon as possible. (this would help lower inflation and lower BoC interest rates)

2) Remove the new very numerous taxes that were added since 2015. (this would give some breathing room to the population)

3) Promote capital investments in Canada. (FDI is at its lowest in decades... new capital would help improve our productivity and enhance our living standards)

4) Bring back total new immigrant numbers to pre-pandemic level (around 450-500k as opposed to 1M+ / year now) ( no need to explain why... basically gives some time to build our cities to house all these new folks).
