J'aimerais que les artistes montréalais rayonnent à travers quelque chose de distinct à Montréal: un mélange de français et d'anglais! I mean songs that use both languages, par example, Reflector par Arcade Fire, or the way Bran Van 3000 will flow between both languages.

It makes one almost wish for the thread to be close down until there is some real proposal to show.
I think a good solution would be to have a "front page" to the forum that displays news and noteworthy content. http://urbantoronto.ca/ is my inspiration for this idea, I'm sure there would be a few users here who would be happy to volunteer to write if the infrastructure was in place on the website.

It looks much larger than an eight lane bridge. It looks like it is 10!
Don't forget that the REM will go right down the middle, so no lanes there.
Edit: just double checked, it's actually bus lanes.

Sales Launch for 158-Unit Humaniti Tower in MontrealSales for 158 residences located at the junction of the Quartier des spectacles and Old Montreal will launch this week, announced developers Cogir Real Estate, DevMcGill and the Fonds immobilier de solidarité FTQ. Ranging in size from 400 to 3,000 square feet, all residences will be located in the upper floors of the Humaniti project's skyscraper, giving homeowners unique views of the Montreal skyline. The design of the tower comes courtesy of Lemay, who are aiming to accomplish LEED and WELL certifications. In total, the $200 million Humaniti project will include 158 condominiums, 314 apartments, 193 hotel rooms, 57,000 square feet of office space, 17,000 square feet of retail space, and five levels of underground parking.

The pictures don't do justice to the "punch" that the red gives when seen in person, perfect for the area.

This entire section in front of the Eaton Centre. The Nickels building is already demolished, the others are empty. This area is zoned 65m, so around 22 floors or the height of Le Nouveau Colisée. The tunnel to Place Ville Marie passes right under the Vaporus shop, so it would be easy to connect to the RÉSO.

I really like this video, but I don't like the part about Edmonton ... it should of been edited out ... not fun to hear comments like that
Everyone I have met from Edmonton loves their city, yet they have a good sense of humor about it. They are pretty self aware that is is a small city that is kinda boring. You have to be really sensitive to have your feelings hurt by someone saying they don't like your city (which is not what the girl in the video is doing).

Nice pictures!!! How many floors to go?
Just noticed that lepeterson.com banner... that's just gaudy
About 3 more floors, it should reach around this height:
Now the real question, will Le Smith or Tom Condos finish first???

Like rocco said, it's being built in two phases
http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/montreal-st-laurent-boulevard-makeover-1.3737054
The first phase of the project will be a six or seven-storey office building on the southern end of the block, near the Monument-National, which will house hundreds of employees from Quebec's immigration department.
The second phase, on the northern end of the block, will be a twelve-storey building for a hotel or private housing. Only the first two floors will be built in the first phase.
I pray that they don't do like Icone phase 2 and forget it! This tower will be excellent for the area, even if it is only a modest 12 floors.

I was shopping at Les Cours Monts Royal yesterday and I saw Mitch Garber out for lunch. I'm not the type of person to bother a celebrity or public figure if I see them, but man was I tempted to go and thank him for his work on bringing the Expos back!

I think that 600 De la Gauchetière will be bought by someone like GWL Realty or Investors group (companies that bought SNC Lavalin and CGI buildings) and then rented out on a floor basis. I would be surprised to see one tenant take the whole building. Who else do we know is expanding or could consolidate their buildings?
