  1. that was what I meant : ) timing might matter to some people and the builders can definitely make one's life difficult by using bunch of excuses to delay the project but personally, I don't think it matters that much anymore after all the delays
  2. the thing is, they can say whatever they want, just don't agree to the annulment and they will have to build your unit or come up with a better solution if they don't, they can either not build at all or its a violation of contract, and more litigation for them the only issue i see here is if a buyer is in a hurry to have a place, but after 2 years of this crap, I don't think another year or more will make a difference
  3. the money is in a trust tho, but yea interest + opportunity cost add up I still don't think they would cancel contracts illegally just to make a few quick bucks tho maybe there were some misunderstandings for the two buyers mentioned above
  4. yup : ) plus I don't understand why they might want to cancel contracts, they might benefit from a few due to the current market price difference but there are other new condos with just as competitive prices.... and they probably accumulated quite a bit of debt with all the delays and such
  5. wow, I know they've been asking people to annul their contracts but I didn't think they can actually cancel it without mutual agreement edit: it might be helpful to read the quebec civil code regarding this matter, particularly code 1785 to 1790 it seems pretty clear to me that the pre-sale contract can't not be annuled unless through mutual agreement, there were no clause in the contract that allows the promoter to cancel either
  6. I get 100% back if I choose to mutually annul I read my contract and it says that they can annul the contract before a certain date with no penalties, but that date was long ago
  7. I'm referring to the triomphe team I haven't heard from or dealt with the promoters in a long time I don't think so tho it's a good idea to consult with a lawyer to look at my options right?
  8. le sigh... no idea what to do now, why can't people just honor their contracts... god damn it
  9. nah, the whole ordeal with the neighbor has long been over reading between the lines, i think they are trying to get rid of as many contracts as possible so they can re-sell for a higher price
  10. anyone else bought a unit here? We should probably talk about what we should do about the latest email
  11. Well this company sure has lost its reputations. Got the email and registered mail saying that the trial date with the neighbor may be set as late as December 2014. And that we can cancel the contract "without the recourse of one party against the other". LMAO, I called during summer and was told by someone at the company that the trial was already settled. I think they are just trying to drag this out and have as many people cancel as possible so they can resell these units for a much higher price. The price sure has gone up since I signed the contract. Greedy suckers.
