Some kind of emergency going on at the moment. Lots of fire trucks.

Cette vue est très impressionnante. Quand on viens de l'ouest sur RL, on dirait qu'on est entrain de bloquer le site en arrière fond.
So now the same kind of effect is available on RL and Sherbrooke when viewed from Guy.

Thanks for the headsup, but a link would be helpful: http://www.lesaffaires.com/blogues/francois-pouliot/pouliot---attention-montreal-snc-lavalin-glisse-vers-londres/553339

À mon avis, il ressemble beaucoup trop au evolo...
no, the Evolo's balconies stick out like chainsaw teeth. Roccabella is slim and lean.

Looks like a new dorm/wing for the ETS. Absolutely lifeless.

I think it was the wind that blew it up
I did notice a curled up banner for the past couple days, guess they moved it to the building. So what's this V day?
-
Huge red banner that says "Le Jour V Approche! - Financement par Point Zero" was put up today. No idea.

that's cool. we were considering going this weekend but the shitty weather threw us off. certainly seems like a better idea than the summer "beach".

There's a nice big crane on site, portable but still impressive. Things seem well on their way. Didn't think they'd preserve the facade.

In your opinion, what makes this block so sketchy and unappealing? It's right between The Bay and Place des Arts so plenty of foot traffic. Even the tattoo place looks decent. Maybe when they're done tearing up Bleury it'll come around? Don't forget that 539 Ste-Catherine is also coming up nicely.
Correct on the old Esprit location. Maybe the problem in both cases is that they're a little too big for the current demand? Five Guys filled up their building nicely, but it was a lot smaller.

Here we go again! Archivex is the new Ilot Voyageur and 1750 Cedar.

I really hate to necropost, but I'm legitimately wondering why the hell this place is still empty! Legal trouble? Place is too big for clothing stores, not large enough for a big box retailer? Seems like it would be a perfect location for somekind of Apple store competitor (whatever that would be) is that what the promoters are holding out for?

Picture is from 1983. CLSC was built in 1993. Chateau Latour is just as disgusting today as it ever was.

same here. I bought a bunch of tshirts off ebay years ago and that's all the gear I'll ever need. I'll be streaming the games.
They better play like they mean it.

Sort of off-topic, but I noticed that the building at corner Maisonneuve / Bishop is undergoing renovations. They are putting windows on the southern facade... as a result we are losing the "crounch crouch" painting: http://goo.gl/maps/kDv3z

about as likely as getting a baseball stadium across the street
talk about no man's land right now. Think Saint-Laurent's industrial sector with everything boarded up.
