Gare Viger
dans Complétés
"Autour"? As in... nothing to do with Gare Viger itself?

I took a quick peek at the renovation notice posted in the entrance. No work will be done on the facade (not that it needs any). They are adding some new emergency stairs at the back though. Ground floor will be commercial.
-
Very glad they're also restoring + enhancing the Notre Dame side. And it looks like they're going with a super-retro look too. Hope it's a sign of things to come!

frankto I recommend you go to the McCord museum (free on Wednesdays) for more like this.

Mais oui, sur une des photos, on dirait qu'ils ont installés un échafaudage-ascenseur? Quelqu'un est au courant d'une rénovation pour la PVM??

This beautiful 1911 building has been under renovation for a year, transforming its 3 top floors into luxurious rental apartments (entrance at 1405 Bishop). The project is called "Bishop Lofts" although these seem like regular apartments.
Buffalo Jeans will occupy most of the ground floor retail space, with a Mochico shoe store as neighbor.

J'invite les membres de ce forum qui en savent plus que moi à ce sujet de nous éclairer un peu sur la création du boulevard de Maisonneuve au centre-ville, merci à l'avance.
Have you read this before? Demolishing Burnside Place to build Boul. de Maisonneuve. You can see the back of 2005-2017 Bishop on the top-right of the second picture.
You can also also see what the area looked like in 1947. They tore down tons of buildings to make way for the metro / Maisonneuve.

There's heavy renovation inside and outside of this beautiful old building which now houses Charcos and Smoke's Poutinerie. Condos? Rental? Who knows. At least it's getting a new life. They did a fair bit of demolition to put in windows (and what I assume will be balconies). Here's what it looked like last summer.

Some of the 50s extensions aren't that great, but the 1912 building on rene-levesque must stay.
They did a great job in Sherbrooke with the conversion of the old St-Vincent-de-Paul hospital.

WTF @ Canadian Tire... some kind of much smaller version maybe? Without all the power tools and car parts.

Man my camera is terrible. DEMEX: Demolish the old to construct THE FUTURE
From what I understand they were also in charge of demolition for the first phase.

Huge banner up since this afternoon (pictures later).
DEMEX: Demolir pour construire l'avenir

They put up the notices both inside and outside Provigo this week.

Likely RESO, I'll check it out when I walk back home in a bit.

I don't know what the heck they're doing, but they're assembling some kind of long green metallic structure where they took down the walls.

Superbe cette photo Comment s'appelait l'édifice en face de la CIBC? Le Laurentien? -
2025-2029 Peel (the building to the south of the Marriott) was purchased on 1999/05/03 for $1,190,000 by Spartacus N V (a corporation whose majority shareholder is a holding company registered in Luxembourg called Rolaco Holding S.A., according to the registre des entreprises). I wonder what they are planning, doesn't really make sense as an investment (ie buying and paying taxes for 13+ years and not collecting rent). Is it protected/historically significant?
Thanks for the great info. Well, this is definitely prime land for a condo tower, but it does blow my mind that they'd wait so long. As far as I know there's nothing special about them that will spark public outrage when (not if!) they go down

I wonder what's happening with the 2 buildings next door, which have been abandoned for a while and were completely boarded up about 3 weeks ago. Anyone?
They were featured on this Spacing Montreal article not too long ago... I think the sad truth is that unless someone shows up with a lot of money, whoever owns these beauties is just gonna let them rot until the city declares them dangerous.

Looks like I missed out on the open house. Ah well, not like I'm in the market for a rental.
