    Eh bien de rien, c'est juste que je pensais que ça paraîtrait mieux avant de voir les photos à l'ordinateur.

     

    Si vous volez vers le sud (New York, Philadelphia, Washington, Miami, etc.) vous pourrez sûrement voir la même chose en personne!

    WOW! c'est exactement ce que j'avais en tête! :eek:

     

     

    Dans l'espace intérieur, on peut facilement faire rentrer une maquette 1:100 de l'aéroport de Mirabel et une maquette 1:10 du Stade olympique.

     

    Ainsi que des pavillons du Silo no5, du Technoparc, de l'Îlot Voyageur, etc.

    Je réitère:

     

    Démolir le stade serait un manque flagrant d'avantgardisme.

     

    Cette structure pourrait servir à tout plein de choses avec un peu d'imagination.

     

    Personnellement, j'opterais pour une conversion en musée.

     

    Je sais pas pourquoi, ça me fait tout de suite penser à :

    What is more interesting about a 0-0 draw than a 6-5 win in 10 innings?

    1. You posted the same thing on SSP, and people already pointed out how silly this post is, since you pick the worst scenario for one and the best for the other.

     

    2. You act like 0-0 means nothing happened. Cataclaw has described how much anticipation there is even when there is no goal scored yet.

     

    3. Apparently most of the fun in baseball games is the "ambiance", and for most people it's hard to care if we don't attend.

     

    4. Baseball on TV? I can't find words to describe how incredibly boring this is.

     

    5. This is not coming from a huge soccer fan; I personnally prefer basketball, but I don't care about trying to convince the world that basketball > soccer.

     

     

     

     

    Baseball is widely played in: US, Japan (most popular sport), Cuba (most popular sport), Dominican Republic (most popular sport), Taiwan (most popular sport), Puerto Rico (most popular sport), Korea, Panama, Venezuela, Colombia, Canada and is growing in places like Mexico, Australia and the Netherlands.

     

    Baseball is native to North America. Soccer on the other hand is a boring European import. We have our own sports here. Not too many people care about soccer in the US or Canada anyway (aside from 1st and 2nd generation immigrants)

     

    Interesting, I didn't know baseball was popular in 10 countries.

     

    1st and 2nd generation immigrants = a lot of people (1st generation alone is like 20% of Canada)

    The destinations have changed also, now it is "15 NORD - Laval" instead of "Saint Jerome", etc. I guess the urban sprawl isn't happening as fast as they thought in 1985 or whenever the old signs were put up :D

     

    Non, St-Jérôme est amplement une banlieue de Montréal. Peut-être que ça en fait moins une destination particulière? (ha, je me rappelle que chaque fois qu'une personne me demandait les directions pour Laval, je disais "suis les indications pour St-Jérôme")

     

    Ou peut-être qu'au contraire c'est la montée de Laval en tant que "destination", étant clairement devenue l'Autre ville principale de la région?

    Ça devrait avoir un impact direct sur le gros boulevard Dagenais, non-achevé depuis 20+++ ans.

     

     

    En passant, Jean Charest affirme qu'il sera encore là pour inaugurer le nouveau tronçon de l'autoroute 19.

    (il y aura au moins une élection d'ici là, en 2012-2013)

    Today the trucks roll onto the Glen Campus of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) to begin preparing the site for the major construction that will take place over the next 51 months. This project, which will bring 2,000 construction workers onto the site for what is one of the largest hospital projects of its kind in Canada, is being developed by the McGill Health Infrastructure Group, a partnership between SNC-Lavalin and Innisfree, headed by SNC-Lavalin. The Glen Campus will regroup The Montreal Children’s Hospital, the Royal Victoria Hospital, the Montreal Chest Institute, a Cancer Centre, and the Research Institute of the MUHC in new state-of-the art facilities.

     

     

    “This is a very exciting day for the MUHC and all Quebecers,” said the Hon. Arthur T. Porter, MUHC Director General and CEO. “With construction crews now preparing the Glen Campus site, our healthcare professionals and investigators are another step closer to having the world’s finest medical and research facilities in which to carry out the innovative medicine and science upon which our reputation has been built.”

     

    Cameras have been installed on the site with a continuous update of the construction process linked to the MUHC Web site at MUHC.CA webcam. Interested parties can track the progress online and watch the buildings going up over the next four years.

     

    The Glen Campus is part of the MUHC’s $2.25-billion Redevelopment Project at the Glen, Lachine and Mountain campuses, whose goal is to give our healthcare professionals the modern work environment and leading-edge technology to provide patients and their families with the best care for life.

    The Selected Proponent for the design, construction, financing and maintenance of the new Campus of McGill University Health Center at Glen Site, the McGill Health Infrastructure Group (MHIG) is a general partnership that is held 60% by SNC-Lavalin Inc. of Montreal and 40% by Innisfree PFI Fund III Limited Partnership of London, UK. MHIG commits to fully invest in the direction of operations, at all levels, in order to ensure the quality of services as well as the performance of the new MUHC facilities. The execution of the Project will require the mobilization of many professionals working in various fields. The architectural design will be carried out by a group of four architectural firms, which are IBI Group, HDR, Yelle Maillé and NFOE, recognized in the hospital and research field. Engineering design will be performed entirely by SNC-Lavalin’s professional staff supported by the firm Bouthillette, Parizeau et associés inc. for part of the mechanical and electrical design. The information technology component will be undertaken by the IT division of SNC-Lavalin. Professional and management staff will be convened in a project office during design and construction.     Les fonctionnaires federaux travaillant a Ottawa et Gatineau se sont faits donner le reste de l'apres-midi "off" pour raison de stress post tremblement de terre. Apres verification, il n'y a eu aucun changement a la productivite de l'appareil gouvernemental canadien...

    En France aussi nous avons eu un tremblement de terre , de magnetude 7 dans l equipe de france de soccer, certains joueurs risquent d etre virés, un est attendu demain par le president de la republique, quel image nous donnons au monde.Ayant de la famille a Ottawa et Montreal, j espere que tout les quebecois vont bien.

    J'habite le secteur Aylmer de Gatineau. J'ai entendu un grand BANG et puis la terre s'est mise à trembler pendant un long moment. Je suis sortie dehors tellement j'ai eu peur. Après, je l'ai senti rouler vers l'Ontario. On entendait très bien la progression du roulement vers l'ouest. Mes chats ont aussi eu très peur! Très épeurant et impressionnant! On ne peut qu'imaginer la terreur ressentie en Haïti lors du grand tremblement de terre...

    Ici au Lac des Loups, à 45 km au nord-ouest d'Ottawa, on l'a ressenti et fort pas à peu près. J'ai cru qu'il y avait du dynamitage autour de la maison, mais lorsque j'ai constaté que tout branlait et des choses tombaient, j'ai réalisé que c'était un tremblement de terre. OUF, 5,5 sur l'échelle de Richter... je ne peux qu'imaginer ce que les Haîtiens ont ressentis. J'ai réalisé que je ne suis vraiment qu'un grain de poussière sur notre terre et que je ne peux absolument rien faire pour contrer les forces de la nature.

    Projet pilote pour la piétonisation de la rue McTavish

    Mais pourquoi cette rue?

    Elle n'a rien d'attreyante point de vue "street life"; surtout en ete sans les etudiants de Mcgill.

     

    Pourquoi PAS cette rue? Elle n'est pas vitale au flot de la circulation au centre-ville et elle borde le campus McGill à l'Ouest. Pour moi, le choix est évident.

     

    Justement cette rue ne sert pas vraiment à la circulation, et McGill a graduellement fait diminuer le trafic depuis l'année dernière.

     

    Elle n'a pas l'air attrayante parce qu'elle est entièrement sur le campus de McGill, et pour la même raison elle est toujours envahie par les piétons étudiants, sauf peut-être au milieu de l'été.

     

     

     

     

    Et on apprenait dans le journal de samedi que St-Paul sera piétonne cette été aussi.
