    Autoroute Ville-Marie : Coderre et Bergeron font front commun

     

     

    MONTRÉAL – Scène peu commune à l'Hôtel de Ville de Montréal : le maire Denis Coderre et le chef de l'opposition officielle, Richard Bergeron ont annoncé qu'ils collaboreront afin d'achever le recouvrement de l'autoroute Ville-Marie pour le 375e de la métropole.

    Super mais tant qu'à le faire j'aimerais bien quon aille jusqu'à St-Urbain.

    Même si j'ai un préjugé favorable pour les transports en commun, je crois qu'il faut être réaliste, car en banlieue il est beaucoup plus difficile de satisfaire les besoins avec cette seule formule. En finalisant enfin certaines artères qui compléteront le réseau, on aura mis un peu plus de cohérence dans nos interventions. Il faut connaitre les bouchons interminables qui se produisent à l'intersection de la 344 et de la 19 pour comprendre que: ne rien faire c'est contribuer à empirer la situation. Certains viaducs ont été construits dans les années 70 et n'ont jamais servi. Il est grandement temps qu'on finisse la job et qu'on ajoute de la fluidité au cauchemar quotidien des résidents, qui méritent autant d'attention que les autres, en tant que payeurs de taxes.

     

    Bien dit ! On peut être favorable à un développement routier sans pour autant être un criminel écologique !

    La majorité des Montréalais/Québécois n'ont jamais assisté à un match de baseball dans un VRAI stade de baseball. Jusqu'en 2006 moi non plus. Tout ce que j'avais connu c'est le Stade Olympique. Je pensais que c'était OK. Jusqu'à mon premier voyage à Boston ou j'ai été au Fenway Park, puis par la suite à New York (2) , Chicago ( 2) , Philadelphie, Pittsburgh, Washington. Tous des stades pour le baseball. LE JOUR ET LA NUIT !!! Je suis persuadé qu'avec la base de fans que nous avons, un vrai stade peut attirer les foules prévues. Même mon ex-copine qui n'aimait pas le baseball a adoré assister au match à Philadelphie juste pour boire une biere, se faire bronzer et faire la vague. C'est aussi ca le baseball ....

    Est-ce qu'il va y avoir dautres developpements un jour ou le projet d'étude n'aura aucune influence selon vous?

    Selon Cromartie, il va laissé le temps au milieu de prendre connaissance de l'étude et de faire les constats et il estime que vers février il pourrait avoir d'autres annonces

    In passing, the current US jackpot is $550M, and its open to non-Americans. Imagine winning it and deciding to start building a stadium. If I won, I think I would throw some money behind the baseball project. :awesome:

    Let's be honest though. As long as the PQ government is in power, you can kiss this vision goodbye!!! What owner would want to relocate their franchise or invest in a province or state with such political and economic uncertainty! Really???

    Également, l'appel d'offres de la gare PAT a été annulé. Faut recommencer le processus.

     

     

    Tu n'es pas sérieux ?!?! :mad: Je me demande c'est quoi le probleme avec cette gare ? Toutes les autres avancent rondement en plus les terrains sont prêts depuis longtemps et le viaduc a déja été emmenagé en 2004 en prévisions d'une future gare. Je ne comprends pas... mais j'attends avec impatience c'est à distance de marche de chez moi

    Feasibility study says Montreal is a viable Major League Baseball market

    There are two things in baseball that never change: history and numbers. As far as Major League Baseball in Montreal goes, the numbers are in and numbers don’t lie: we are viable!

     

    Today Montreal Baseball Project, in collaboration with the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal, Ernst & Young, and BCF LLP, announced the results of a feasibility study on the viability of Major League Baseball in Montreal that we launched back in March. Although I’ve known all along Montreal is still a baseball city, we felt it was important to put that question to the population and to the business community in order to back up what I already personally believed. I could not be more pleased with the results.

     

    We are closer to our goal now than at any time in the last decade.

     

    According to a Leger Marketing poll conducted as part of the study, the return of Major League Baseball to Montreal would be embraced by both fans and the business community. Nearly 70% of Quebecers are in favour of bringing the game back to Montreal. Among corporations, 81% support the return of Major League Baseball.

     

    How does this kind of support translate into fannies in the seats? Leger Marketing found out that fans would be willing to pay $50 to see a ball game. Leger also forecasts an average attendance of 28,500 per game. Multiplied by 81 games a year, we are looking at a little over 2.3 million in attendance over the course of an entire season. Those are some great numbers in my opinion!

     

    A lot of hard work has gone into bringing us this far but our work is not done. We’ve arrived at a very important stage in the journey to bring Major League Baseball back to Montreal. My next task is to find a champion.

     

    A champion, or champions, is what it’s going to take to make this work. To put this in baseball terms, here’s how I see it:

     

    I’d liken what we have done to mounting a late-inning comeback. We’ve scraped, battled, and chipped away at adversity. Montreal Baseball Project, the Board of Trade, the Montreal business community, and, of course, Montreal baseball fans, who’ve shown their support and passion right from the beginning, have loaded the bases.

     

    So now, we are looking for a champion to emerge from the dugout. We need a power hitter to step up to the plate and bring everybody home. A big player who has the assets, the passion, and the integrity to make history. A champion who has the same dream I have. The same dream that millions of Montreal baseball fans have never given up on: the dream to bring Major League Baseball back to Montreal. And to bring the Montreal Expos back to life.

     

    Somebody’s going to hit the home run that will be remembered forever. If you want to play the role of the champion in this story, I’m waiting for your call.
