I'm pretty sure Hilton scrapped the Denizen chain after they were sued by Starwood Hotels for taking trade secrets and confidential information to build the brand.
That being said, perhaps (just a theory) this new Hilton was actually the originally proposed spot for the Denizen Montreal.
You're right, according to Google anyway, as to the demise of the brand.
Still, if the brand was to be concurrent with W, or similar, I can't imagine they picking a location like Mackay and Rene Levesque, which is far from fashionable.

Sure is a lot of Hilton in downtown Monteal:
Hilton Bonaventure
Waldorf Astoria (de Hilton)
Hilton Garden Inn (de Hilton)
Embassy Suites Montreal (de Hilton)
And now: New Hilton Montreal

Hmm. Given that Hilton owns the Waldorf-Astoria brand, it seems odd that they would build two major properties three blocks from one another.
Being a project associated with Panzini, I won't hold my breath.

As someone living in New Jersey, I assure you that Philly fans - regardless of the sport - are both classless and white trash. They best part of last night was the stadium full of disappointed fans. Not a Montreal championship, but an okay consolation prize.

I thought I would add a metro map that I MS Paint'ed at work today. Extensions on the blue line to Montreal-Ouest and Pie IX, yellow line extended to Mcgill and down towards Griffintown, and the orange line extended two stations to Bois Franc. Also included are the three tram lines called for in the most recent Plan du Transport.
I based the style on the GO Transit map. I think it looks very clean.
Couldn't get station names in, MS Paint bad for labeling.

http://www2.ville.montreal.qc.ca/ocpm/pdf/P35/4e.pdf

The stock photo at the top is almost certainly taken from the MoMA in New York looking above the sculpture garden. Bizarre.

Sorry for the bad french!
