    In case you weren't aware, the same funding formula is applied by MELS to all Quebec Universities, and is based entirely on the number of full time equivalent students and the disciplines they are studying. There is no part of the formula based on language or origin of student. Therefore, all universities are equally funded in Quebec.

     

    Je me suis mal exprimé. Oui, toutes les universités sont subventionnées de façon égale, mais ce que je critique plutôt est le nombre de place dans les universités anglophones. Si tu additionnes les places de Mcgill, Concordia et Bishop, le total est d'au moins 80 000 places pour étudiant. C'est beaucoup. En tant que payeur de taxes, je me questionne sur la nécessité d'avoir autant d'argent servant à subventionner ces places. Je suis conscient du rôle majeur que Mcgill, une excellente institution, joue pour Montréal. En même temps, il serait intéressant d'augmenter la capacité des universités francophones.

     

    Solutions possibles:

    Convertir Concordia en une université bilingue.

    Plusieurs francophones étudient dans les institutions anglophones (souvent pour améliorer leur anglais), mais peu d'anglophones fréquentent les universités de langue française. On entends souvent que les anglophones de Montréal sont parmi les plus bilingues. Rien ne les empêche donc d'accéder à l'université de langue française s'ils souhaitent étudier à Montréal.

    Bon, encore une fois c'est la faute des maudits anglais! :rolleyes: Franchement, qu'ils commencent par augmenter la qualité d'éducation dans les universitlés francophone au lieu d'essayer de rabaisser les universités anglophones.

     

    As-tu lu l'article? On parle d'inégalité dans le financement. C'est assez évident que les université anglophones du Québec recoivent une part un peu trop grande du gâteau par rapport au poids démographique des anglophones.

     

    Concernant la qualité de l'éducation, j'ai étudié à l'Université de Sherbrooke et à l'Université de Montréal et je considère que j'ai reçu une éducation de grande qualité. Si je compare avec une amie qui se pogne le derrière à deux mains pour des A à Concordia, c'est encore plus évident.

    Regardless what the thread is called the render shows a view facing north (or what we call north) with the 1000 in the background obviously on the west side of Peel. And it does not show up on their website (at least not several hours ago).

     

    Non c'est à l'est de Peel, District phase 3. Tu vois le Lowney en background devant le 1000. Tu n'aurais pas cette vue si la rue était Peel.

    Ground breaks on Westmount, Quebec complex

    The firm of SelbyCampus Inc. has broken ground in the Montreal borough of Westmount on a project that is expected to become one of the province’s largest LEED-certified residential complexes.

     

    Housed in a building that once accommodated pharmaceutical company Charles E. Frosst and later Dawson College, the SELBY condominium development has been designed to reduce its environmental footprint as much as possible, while optimizing energy efficiency. The project will incorporate a system of geothermal heating and air conditioning, central heat exchangers, triple-glazed, low-emission fenestration and passive solar heating.

     

    SelbyCampus Inc. president Roland Hakim said LEED Gold is being targeted for the 250,000-square-foot project. The development ultimately will house 164 units on six floors. Originally constructed in 1926, the building was acquired by developers Roland and Sami Hakim in 1999. The massive industrial structure features reinforced concrete. The core components of the original structure are being preserved.

     

    The project is being constructed in three phases, at an estimated cost of $40 million. Phase One, which includes 42 condominium units, is scheduled for completion in June 2013.

     

    The project includes rooftop villas with panoramic views, gym, pool, a heated, 110-unit interior parking facility, and 40,000 square feet of gardens and exterior recreational facilities. A recharge station for electric vehicles is one of the building’s environmentally friendly features.

     

    The project is being undertaken by a team that includes architects Architem, mechanical and electrical engineers Mespecs Inc., structural engineers BCA Consultants Inc., and energy and LEED consultants Genivar. Contractor is Exeter Construction Inc.

    D'après ce que j'ai pu constater, la maison hantée est en démolition. Il y a des barricades autour avec des enseignes du démolisseur.

     

    Wow, excellente nouvelle! Une verrue de moins.

     

    C'est fou à quel point ce coin va s'avoir amélioré en quelques années.

    Ivanhoe-Cambridge (CDP) va construire un tour à bureau de 45 étages en partenariat avec Hines à Chicago et c'est du 100% spéculatif. Aucun locataire majeur n'a été trouvé. Et le marché des tours à bureaux n'est pas si hot à Chicago en ce moment (aucune tour à bureau depuis 5 ans).
